NIBULON grain transshipment terminal is one of the most modern and functional industrial facilities in Ukraine. Construction of the terminal began in 2003, and it was commissioned in 2004.
In 2004, the terminal was recognized as the best industrial facility in Ukraine, and in 2008, it received the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of architecture. This recognizes its importance as a key facility for the country’s agricultural sector and infrastructure.
In May 2018, a new elevator plant for the transshipment of grain and oilseeds as part of the transshipment terminal with a capacity of 43 thousand tons was solemnly put into operation, as a result of which the total capacity of grain storage facilities located on the territory of the company’s enterprise in Mykolaiv was increased to 173 thousand tons. This made it possible to store a large number of crops separately and simultaneously and to distribute this grain by quality, so that farmers can guarantee the storage of grain, and the company can separately store and ensure the quality of products that are used, in particular, for the production of baby food. In addition, it allowed the acceptance of all crops without restrictions and provided uninterrupted service of agricultural product transportation by the Southern Bug and Dnipro rivers. Together with the elevator plant at the terminal, the cargo berth was commissioned and reconstructed: it was lengthened from 104 to 222 meters. As a result, the total length of the quayage at the facility is now almost 800 meters, which allows for the simultaneous handling of up to five vessels. This increases the speed of vessel maintenance and therefore increases the efficiency of the company’s fleet built at its own shipyard.
The schemes implemented by the company for acceptance and sampling from vehicles are also unique to Ukraine. The laboratory has the ability to simultaneously organize the acceptance and sampling from three lines of vehicles, which makes it possible to triple the pace of analysis without stopping the cargo flow to determine the quality of grain and throughput capacity of the terminal.
The engineering and manufacturing laboratory of the transshipment terminal confirms competence in carrying out measurements under the scheduled supervision of the NAAU (National Accreditation Agency of Ukraine). The laboratory is recognized by the International Grain and Feed Trade Association, GAFTA. The competence of the measurements for the presence of GMOs and safety indicators has been confirmed by international rounds of interlaboratory comparative measurements.
The terminal has a significant volume of acceptance and shipping of grain crops. Its capabilities are as follows:
Acceptance from motor vehicles:
Maximum volume of acceptance from vehicles: up to 14 thousand tons
Acceptance of railway transport:
Maximum volume of acceptance from railway transport: up to 7 thousand tons
Acceptance from water transport:
Maximum volume of acceptance from water transport: up to 8 thousand tons
Shipment to the water:
Maximum shipment volume to the water: up to 45 thousand tons
The volume of simultaneous grain storage is 172,600 tons
The terminal is now operating in land-port mode.
