Dmytro Provornyi from NIBULON first defended Ukraine in 2015, so he was ready to continue the fight from the first days of the full-scale invasion.
By education, Dmytro is a forester, hunter and tractor driver, he joined the company in 2020. At first, he worked as a driver of an unloader at the Voznesenska branch in the Mykolaiv region, then moved to the position of traffic dispatch operator and loading and unloading operations on road transport. With the beginning of the war, Dmytro’s life changed completely. Now, every day, instead of trucks and barges with grain, there are pickups and tanks. Instead of the fertile fields of the Mykolaiv region, there is the dangerous land of the Donetsk region.
“On the day the war started, I was at work. I remember we were loading a barge then. Friends started calling me, telling me the news. You know, until the last one did not want to believe that russia would dare to start a full-scale war. But I know firsthand what has been happening at the front since 2014. Therefore, when I heard the news, there was no surprise, nor even shock. There was a conscious decision to stand for Ukraine,” recalls Dmytro.
“Since I am a member of the JFO and have experience in combat operations, I immediately received a notice, came to the military commissariat, passed the medical examination, and stood in line. While I was waiting for distribution, I once again visited the military commissariat: I really wanted to get into the unit where I had served before, according to my military specialty.
In 2015–2020, I was part of the 10 arsenal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Voznesensk) as a master of optical and electronic-optical devices. In 2016, I received the rank of senior soldier. Now I am on rotation near Slovyansk, serving in the same unit, in the “Missile and Artillery Service” unit. I am responsible for the repair of artillery, I maintain the guns of tanks: I check their technical condition, I make sure that the vehicles go on a combat mission fully armed and in excellent working condition. We need as many shots as possible to hit the enemy target the first time. My comrades and I are in a fighting mood – the occupiers have no chance!”
Dmytro says that he is not yet making any definite plans for the future:
“Now my main task and goal is to do everything that depends on me to speed up the victory of Ukraine. So that my brothers, who risk their lives every second, return from the war alive and unharmed. I dream of returning home and creating a strong family. But we are still standing until we drive the enemy out of our land. We will not give it to anyone. The truth is with us and the victory too!”
