From January 14 to 16, 2012 the third tug of POSS-115 series, «NIBULON-3» successfully passed running trials, which were conducted in the waters of the Dnipro-Bug estuary. The final setting up of the equipment by the specialists of contractors preceded the beginning of running trials. In particular, «Mitsubishi» company finished setting up the main engines, specialists of «Berg» company – setting up of rudder propeller complex, specialists of «Alewijnse» company – setting up of navigational and electronic equipment. Representatives of these three companies stayed to participate in the running trials, other specialists of contractors, who also completed the work, left the ship. The basic operating modes have been tested, the main engines and propellers were verified in full operation (with step-by-step expanding capacities) during maneuvers of «NIBULON-3» tug. Also all the auxiliary machinery, equipment, automation systems were tested in action (in accordance with its designated purpose). Towing force of the tug was tested separately. The ship in the process of all working mechanisms showed design speed of 11.5 knots during the trials. As a general result – all the key operational characteristics of the vessel are confirmed, which means that the tug meets all regulatory requirements. During the maneuvers the following specialists were present: representatives of the customer (“NIBULON”): the inspector on trials in shipbuilding Volodymyr Zhmur, the building senior engineer Dmytro Gorbenko, the fleet building engineer Roman Efimenko; representatives of the contractor (Mykolayiv shipbuilding yard “Okean”): the main builder of ships Anatoliy Mystyukevych, the head of quality control Oleksandr Beregovyy; representatives of «Berg», «Mitsubishi», «Alewijnse» companies-contractors. The new tug will start working within the “fleet family” of “NIBULON” in the near future, after signing of the act of acceptance-transfer. The last tug of the series, which is being built at the Mykolayiv shipbuilding yard «Okean» («NIBULON-4»), will be launched in February 2012. Therefore, an implementation of the project of “NIBULON”, particularly in the part of the construction of its own towing fleet continues according to the plan. Thus, from the beginning of navigation on Ukrainian rivers “NIBULON’s” fleet will consist of already seven own tugs, 4 of which are of «POSS-115» project, and 28 non-self-propelled vessels. Ownership of such a powerful “fleet family” will allow the company to cross the milestone of water transportations in the amount of 1 million tons.
