On December 27, 2012 in the State Agency for Investment and National Projects of Ukraine NIBULON’s General Director Oleksiy Vadaturskyy and his Deputy on economic issues Andriy Vasylev introduced a project to revive navigation on the Dnipro and the Southern Bug Rivers.
Main components of NIBULON’s project are:
1. Cargo fleet construction.
2. Transport infrastructure construction for grain storage and shipment (elevators and transshipment terminals).
3. Dredging works on limiting areas of waterways.
4. Reconstruction of locks.
In particular, during his speech Oleksiy Vadaturskyy stressed that carrying out dredging works on limiting areas of the Dnipro River will return investor’s confidence in this perspective infrastructure facility, will open waterways of the international communication from Belarus to the Black Sea. Dredging works will give positive results to NIBULON and also they will increase cargo turnover between south trade ports and river ones which are located along the Dniprodzerzhyns’k, Kremenchuts’k and Kaniv Reservoirs that will lead to increase of workplaces and an average worker’s wage. In case of cargo turnover increase, there will appear a necessity to extend river fleet, to boost volumes of shipbuilding and ship repair, and, consequently, to increase workplaces in the neighboring sectors.
The State Agency for Investment and National Projects of Ukraine supports NIBULON’s proposals as to inclusion of the investment project to revive navigation on the Dnipro and the Southern Bug Rivers in the list of projects which have priority value for the social, economic and cultural development (national projects) and preparation of an appropriate draft law by the relevant ministry.
We would remind you that on July 26, 2012 during a solemn opening of the transshipment terminal of “Pereyaslavs’ka” branch Ukraine’s Prime Minister highly appreciated NIBULON’s investment activity and supported granting of national status to NIBULON’s project to revive navigation on the Dnipro and the Southern Bug Rivers. On August 7, 2012 the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, the State Agency for Investment and National Projects of Ukraine and the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine received an appropriate order of Ukraine’s Prime Minister and an appeal written by the Heads of Kyiv, Poltava and Kherson Regional State Administrations as to recognition of NIBULON’s investment project as national one.
