On March 23, 2012 the solemn ceremony of the 5th National Maritime Rating of Ukraine summarizing the results of 2011 was held in Odesa. “Ports of Ukraine” magazine and information-analytical center “BlackSeaTrans” initiated organizing the National Marine rating five years ago. During this time, a number of nominations for the best public ports, stevedoring companies, marine agents, freight forwarders, shipping companies, including “Golden ton”, “Golden container”, “Marine Agent”, “Revitalization of the fleet”, “Freight Forwarder of the Year” etc. was established. Winners of most nominations are decided by the ratings, which are compiled on the basis of performance (amount of transshipment, built berths, growth percentage, etc.). Winners of nomination “Achievements of the Year” and “Man of the Year on water transport” were determined by the experts, this year75 experts are managers of the industry companies. On the whole during the 5th National Maritime Rating 57 winners in 15 nominations were identified: “Man of the Year on water transport” 1. Honorary President of the Odesa sea transport port Mykola Pavlyuk and Head of the Odesa sea transport port Yuriy Vas’kov. 2. Director of public policy in the field of maritime and river transport department of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr Sevryukov. 3. Head of Pivdennyy sea transport port Oleksandr Lagosha. 4. General Director of “NIBULON”, Hero of Ukraine O.O.Vadaturskyy and acting Head of Yalta port (in 2011 – Head of Kerch sea transport port) Oleksandr Kotovs’kyy. 5. Acting Director of Maritime Search and Rescue Service Victor Sudaryev. 6. The first deputy director of port “Oktyabrs’k” in 2011 – director of port “Oktyabrs’k” Vitaliy Kropyva. 7. Director of SE “Delta-Pilot” Oleksandr Golodnyts’kyy, General Director of the company “Brooklyn-Kyiv” Yuriy Gubankov, head of the Odesa sea transport port (1987 – 2011 years) Valentyn Kotel’nyy and General Director of the company “TIS” Andriy Stavnitser. Experts honored General Director of “NIBULON” Oleksiy Vadaturskyy “for his contribution into attracting investment in the development of marine economy of Ukraine”, for “substantial investment in the development of water transport through the construction of elevators, the fleet for grain transportation, specialized tugs”, that “the manager of “NIBULON” was able to continue the program on river navigation development despite difficult conditions”. “Golden berth” The winners in this nomination are the companies that put new berths into operation during the year. “NIBULON” has become the only winner of the nomination “Golden berth” according to the results of 2011. By the company’s efforts berthing water development facilities were built at its own transshipment terminal in Nova Odesa town of Mykolayiv region and Kremenchuk town of Poltava region. “Revitalization of the fleet” Winners in the nomination are identified among Ukrainian companies that achieved the largest increase of transport or specialized vessels. Trading House “Armada”. “NIBULON” took the 8th place (5th in 2010) in the rating of the cargo turnover in 2011 among private stevedoring companies. It took the 5th place (4th place in 2010) in the rating of private ports and terminals of Ukraine on cargo turnover achieved in 2011 (according to the stat. reporting). Such changes of “NIBULON’s” positions in the rating tables are primarily conditioned by the fact that in 2011 the company had virtually no opportunity to be engaged in trade and procurement activities during forced five months of idle time. Experts also compiled ratings of the major achievements and failures of 2011. The personnel merry-go-round accompanied by violations of criminal cases and arrests of managers was named as the main failure. Last year experts summed up the situation toughly, noting “the final destruction of personnel potential of industry and enterprises management”. Instead we are pleased to note that experts named the work of “NIBULON” on the development of river transport infrastructure among the most important events in 2011 in a water transport.
