Implementing its large-scale investment program to revive Ukrainian rivers as transport arteries since 2009, NIBULON has managed to change transport logistics in the country. Due to its comprehensive approach – the construction of high-capacity transshipment terminals, the revival of navigation, and the improvement of Ukrainian navigation waterways – NIBULON annually demonstrates real results proving the correctness of its decisions. In 2019/20 MY, NIBULON’s shipping company transported more than 3.8 million tons of various cargoes by inland waterways, having exceeded the previous marketing year’s result by 9%. The company’s modern fleet efficiently transports grain, metal, coal, building materials (piles, plates, crushed stone, sand, etc.), Kherson watermelons and melons, as well as oversize cargos. The company’s floating cranes demonstrate efficient operation as well. Last marketing year, the NIBULON MAX 140-m floating vessel shipped for export almost the same volume of grain as other NIBULON’s floating cranes shipped during the same nine-month period. As a result, in 2019/20 MY, the company’s fleet shipped for export more than 3.2 million tons, which is by 20% more compared with 2018/19 MY. It is important that  the share of floating vessels provided by third parties to conduct loading and unloading operations was reduced by 85% during the 2019/20 MY. The company will no longer need to use services provided by third parties soon. NIBULON continues developing Ukraine’s economy in order to make Ukrainian rivers navigable, to increase cargo transportation by water, and to reduce traffic load on highways. In June 2020, the company opened its new Zelenodolska branch transshipment terminal (Dnipropetrovsk region). The facility operates efficiently and can receive up to 300 thousand tons of grain per year, thereby removing more than 12.5 thousand trucks from intraregional and interregional highways.   NIBULON’s shipbuilders have built and launched 5 vessels this year, namely harbor pusher tugs (T410 project) and non-self-propelled open type vessels (B1500 project). These are vessels of new projects which will improve the efficiency of the fleet's operation and, as a result, promote an increase of annual transportation and transshipment volumes. In addition, the new non-self-propelled B1500 project vessels are intended to increase the variety of cargos transported by river, as they are used to transport containers, general and bulk cargoes, including sand, gravel, packaged cargoes, wood, and wood products. NIBULON plans to transport 4.5 – 5 million tons of cargoes by Ukrainian rivers in 2020, thereby reducing traffic load on Ukrainian highways and saving state costs for road repairs. NIBULON’s shipping company has transported more than 18.6 million tons of cargoes by Ukrainian inland waterways for more than ten years of its operation. Consequently, NIBULON has removed 775 thousand trucks from the highways.
