The beginning of study year is very important and exciting moment that is by right considered the holiday, especially when it is “the first time in the first grade”. And for holiday it’s usual thing to give presents. In this year “first-formers” will receive wonderful presents – a book “My favorite city Mykolaiv”. And the fist lesson in their life will be devoted to such native and at the same time such unknown city. For children the city is the whole world. And to understand and love own city it needs to know its history. The special regional literature can help. But unfortunately there is not enough such material in Ukraine, and for children there is no material at all. But now in Nikolaev we have such one! And in September 1, 2007 the first regional book will come on the children’s tables. The book was created specially for pupils of the junior school, it’s merry, colorful, interesting, got up with comics and at the same time this book is very informative. After all it combines the whole history from source materials to today’s date, it tells about geopolitical location of Nikolaev and at the same time shows all beauty and comfort of the native city, opening its unique spirit on their pages. This amazing book was created rather quickly almost in one go by creative collective of authors together with skilled teachers and City Department of popular schooling. But it’s not enough to edit a wonderful book. It’s important that each first-former gets this book in present. And “NIBULON Ltd”, which has given financial support to edit the book, helped in this. The company provided finance to edition of different books and photo albums about Nikolaev not for the first time, at the same time it purposed just one aim – cultural revival of city people. As Nikolaev city is wonderful, full of ability, where they may achieve a great success. That was proved by “NIBULON Ltd” with own example more than once. And it depends just on all of us what future of our native city will be. With our talents and deeds we can do the city better. Arcadiy Surov (the author of poetry, the member of the Russia poets union) says that it’s more difficult to make up children poetry as it should be written better than for adults. And that’s right.
