Agribusiness is a key complex that has an impact on many other industries. Especially it is true for Ukraine that is an agricultural country. This is some kind of engine, which pulls national economy. Therefore it is not surprising that almost one in five Heroes of Ukraine is representative of an agricultural sector. Most everybody, they are 49 prominent figures, were represented in an exclusive edition “Stars of the first magnitude.Agribusinessof Ukraine”. This unique book was created and published by the team of the newspaper “Agroprofi”, with the support of the leader of agricultural sector – “NIBULON”. Ukraine has always respected the people who cultivate bread. That is why “Stars of the first magnitude.Agribusiness of Ukraine” is a book about the main achievement of our country: about those who feeds people, who takes care about welfare of each family and the entire state; real toilers, worthy of great respect. Future prosperity of our country and its citizens is in the development of agriculture. Heroes proved with their own example that Ukraine is able and therefore it should be a world leader in agricultural production, the breadbasket of the world. Journalists of newspaper “Agroprofi” have collected stories about life and hard work of peasants during three years. Interviews with Heroes of Ukraine – representatives of agricultural complex, were published in the weekly publication of business information under a constant heading. In order not to lose this real information treasure, the originative team of newspaper decided to create a separate exclusive edition and give it to their Heroes. Leonid Kuchma personally, who at his time laid the foundations of this high rank – Hero of Ukraine, with his presidential decree, presented a unique book this week, on the 9th of September at the National university of life and environmental sciences. The event was attended by other distinguished guests: representatives of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, relevant committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Kyiv regional state administration, advisors of the President of Ukraine Viktor Slauta and Pavlo Gaydutskyy. “This is a great idea to create such a book about all the Heroes of Ukraine, who really deserve to stay in the national history, not just in memory of individuals. I’m very glad to have such an opportunity of this meeting. It is not because I had the honor to establish this award, and therefore probably most of you were awarded during my presidency – I’m just pleased to see you and talk to you”- Leonid Kuchma said at the beginning of the event. A former President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko and a current president – Viktor Yanukovych also left their address to Heroes and readers on the front pages of the edition besides Leonid Kuchma. Thus they showed their high respect to the large agrarian toilers. According to authors each interview collected in the book is a live communication with a legendary figure about his life journey, achievement of personhood and labour achievements. This is an attempt to get an invaluable experience of a person who has become a national heritage over to the readers. “NIBULON” headed by General Director, Hero of Ukraine Oleksiy Vadaturskyy provided financial support, invested efforts to make more people know about the example of successful accomplishments. This introduction with the glorious career and outlook on the world around of each of the Heroes will be not only interesting but also educational for everybody who takes this unique publication in arms. “I have always treated you with great respect. When we work in agricultural sector, we can observe and see all your achievements, we definitely want to do something very well ourselves, to be like you. When you became a Hero of Ukraine, I believe, you have to do everything in order to feel that we are really a strong team together”, – said Oleksiy Vadaturskyy. On this solemn day Heroes of Ukraine did not only looked through the pages of unique publication with admiration and shared pleasant memories with each other, but they also talked about the current situation in the industry. They discussed the difficulties that both ordinary farmers and directors of agricultural enterprises face. Then Leonid Kuchma advised Heroes to unite in their own association, in order that own life experience and valuable advice continue to work for the welfare of the entire nation. To composite authors’ of the book credit, the publication has no equals in Ukraine. This is the first attempt to collect author’s feature materials about the Heroes of Ukraine from agriculture in one volume. Stories in it are not dull encyclopedic facts and narration of chronology of obtaining success, but they are full of genuine human emotions thoughts of famous Ukrainian people: with their dreams, family values, fears and hopes. The Heroes themselves recognize an importance and uniqueness of this publication. This book is a big story of everyone, whose history is recorded in it. The book will enable current and future generations to study the example of agricultural production Heroes who put heart and soul into developing of the Motherland. This year five thousand exemplars of “Stars of the first magnitude.Agribusiness of Ukraine” have already been printed. Almost all of them have come to their readers. Part of the circulation during the solemn event was presented to the National History Museum of Ukraine and Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine. So given the attention and social significance, the authors expect to resume publication of the book and enrich it with stories about new Heroes. In order that not only experienced, but also young professionals of agriculture and current students of agricultural direction to have positive examples to follow. Photo report
