The sowing is completed on the territories of Cherkasy, Poltava, Sumy, Khmel’nyts’kyy and Zhytomyr regions. Due to the well organized work of the stuff about 10 000 ha of sunflower and 12 800 ha of corn were successfully sowed, compared to last year’s 7 200 and 10 800 correspondingly. In general, corn sowing volumes increased by 19%, sunflower by 38% compared to the last season. We managed to contract the sowing time up to 10 days for each region. Such an approach will favour the simultaneous ageing of different cultures and will ease the harvesting. According to the Head of Production Department of “NIBULON” Khmel’nyts’kyy Kostyantyn, this year “NIBULON” branches were the first ones to sow grain sorghum in Mykolayiv region. The sowings of this culture occupy 610 ha. The introduction of this culture is conditioned by the further optimization of the plants under sowing and growing demand of the sorghum grain on the foreign market. If the experience is going to satisfy our expectations, the very next year the percentage of this culture is going to rise considerably. In southern regions, where due to the favouring climate the sawing company started a bit earlier, we have already seen positive results of our work, namely plantlets of the sunflower on the 2 664 ha and corn on the 1 790 ha. “Due to the recent rich rains all over the territory of Ukraine we expect even and healthy plantlets in branches of eastern and central regions, – Mr. Khmel’nyts’kyy pointed out. – So, we hope for the perfect conditions for a creation of a future crop.” The next step to take is to protect the gentle plantlets from a complex of pests and diseases. The branches are ready with fertilization of 18 500 ha, performed pest control of more than 21 000 ha, which make 70% of the total plan. The considerable attention is also given to the obtaining of the qualitative production: the purchase of the micro fertilizers, growth promoters and other fertilizers is done, we exercise control over grain bug that helps to achieve the highest quality of the oncoming crop.  But it is only the beginning. One has to take long views in the current situation. We have already planed the reaping machinery relocation, made plans of seeds stocking, and planed the structure of the sowings for the coming season.   Photo report of “Snigurivs’ka” branch
