As part of this campaign, NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard’s specialists have produced 30 sets of navigational aids, such as H-2 ice cigar-shaped buoys with mooring anchors, chains, and swivels. They will be installed on the water approaches and water areas of NIBULON’s berths at Kamianka-Dniprovska, Ternivska, Vitove, Gradyzk branches, as well as at its new transshipment terminal in Dnipropetrovsk region which will be constructed in June 2020. “The installation of the all-weather ice cigar-shaped buoys is the best way to ensure navigation safety the whole year round. Unlike standard navigational aids which make round-the-clock navigation impossible during their installation and removal period, the cigar-shaped buoys can remain on the inland waterways all year round, showing water approaches to the water areas of the company’s berths”, informs Dmytro Maistrenko, a leading navigation safety specialist at NIBULON. NIBULON will deliver the equipment by river transport. The company has loaded it on the non-self-propelled vessel. The vessel has already started its cargo trip to the destination point.“NIBULON has been ensuring river navigation safety for more than a year. Thus, the company has installed 112 buoys for the last three years. This year we have produced 30 sets of ice buoys which prime cost comprises UAH 1.6 million. Some people say it is only possible to revive navigation by adopting a specific law, but in our country the officials from the Ministry of Infrastructure are just searching for reasons in order to excuse their inactivity and inability to arrange a working process. NIBULON’s activities prove that everything is possible if there is the desire and skills.
