Press-release: “NIBULON” completed the construction of the first transshipment terminal in Kherson region

On July 5, festivities on the occasion of the construction completion of the first river transshipment terminal of “NIBULON” will be held in Kozats’ke village, Beryslav district of Kherson region. The modern high tech computerized facility will become the 21st elevator complex of “NIBULON”!   The transshipment terminal construction on shipment of grain and oilseeds for river transport became the first stage of implementation of the investment project in the region.   In 2011 a number of meetings with participation of Mykola Kostyak, the head of Kherson regional state administration, and Oleksiy Vadaturskyy, the General Director of “NIBULON”, were held. Issues concerning implementation of the investment project of the company in Kherson region were discussed there.  “Being the head of Kherson regional state administration,  who sincerely wishes to increase investments in the native region, I want to assure that we will provide all conditions to minimize bureaucratic obstacles and to implement the investment program of the company as quickly as possible”, Mykola Kostyak mentioned. Under the auspices of Mykola Kostyak and his team, local authorities created conditions for the quickest promotion of the investment program of the company.     Due to a spotless reputation which the company has been proving both at state and international levels for many years, the investment project of “NIBULON” enjoys support of reliable international financial institutions, such as the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the State Export-Import Bank of Ukraine, and also governments of Kingdoms of the Netherlands, Sweden, and Denmark. During the terminal construction of “Kozats’ka” branch “Private Export Funding Corporation” (the USA) bank and “Rabobank” (the Netherlands) bank were the creditors of the company.   The transshipment terminal construction in Kozats’ke village was solemnly started on April 3, 2012.   This facility became the best evidence of a building craftsmanship of “NIBULON’s” experts. Previous companies, working at this site earlier, left unpleasant “heritage”: land slips and ferroconcrete structures, etc were obstacles for builders.     Hydro-technological conditions were also not easy. In this period the level of ground water always rises that causes floodings in Kozats’ke village itself: strong ground water which was a big problem for locals for a long time became the real obstacle for the builders of “NIBULON”. Therefore the company implemented the project of water lowering that will solve the problems of not only the newly built facility but also the problems of Kozats’ke village.   But even these obstacles could not prevent from opening of a new facility of “NIBULON”! And only in 3 months the new supermodern river transshipment terminal was constructed in Kherson region.   The newly-built “Kozats’ka” branch impresses with its modernity and equipment. Only in three months colossal amount of works was performed, namely:  – 2291piles were driven; – 1067.5 tons of metal structures were produced and installed; – 17766 cubic meters of concrete were  poured; – 14955 square meters of concrete surface were paved; – 108.8 km of cable were  laid; – 4350 km of networks of water pipeline and sewage system were laid; – gas supply network with length of 2.15 km was installed; – ventilation system and aspiration system with length of 1770 m2 were installed.   An approximate cost of the transshipment terminal construction in Kozats’ke village is UAH 170 mln. The newly-built complex has the following technical characteristics: grain storage capacity is 76 thousand tons, daily capacity of dryers – 3 thousand tons, daily shipment capacity on water transport is 10 thousand tons, moist grain silos with increased capacity of 250 tons each.   During the facility construction only modern technologies and equipment were used. So, modernized six-sectioned dryers “MC 3180” of American company “Mathews Company” with capacity of about 75 tons/hour were installed at the terminal for the first time. The technical refitting of these dryers was carried out by “NIBULON’s” specialists. Equipment of Danish company “Cimbria Unigrain A/S”, an old partner of “NIBULON”, was also used during the terminal construction. “Scafco” company (the USA) supplied silo equipment, “Buhler” company (Germany) was a supplier of grain cleaning equipment.   The modern administrative and laboratory complex, located in the territory of the terminal, is equipped with modern equipment produced in Sweden, Germany, the USA, Denmark, Russia, Ukraine, etc.   The investment project of the company as regards construction of a network of modern terminals is connected with the development of its own shipping company. The location of the transshipment terminal in Kozats’ke village (it is located below Kakhovs’kyy lock) will provide a possibility to perform transportations by water transport almost all the year round. This terminal takes the 2nd place on proximity of an outlet to the sea among the transshipment terminals of the company.   At the terminal in Kozats’ke village there was constructed a unique berthing facility with length of 315 m which includes cargo berth (105m) and berthing dolphins (210 m). It enables simultaneous mooring of three non-self-propelled vessels “NBL”. Thus, the newly-built terminal will be a moorage point of “NIBULON’s” vessels.   The maximum quantity of cargo which the company can ship on water transport from units, constructed by “NIBULON” along the Dnipro and Pyvdennyy Bug rivers, amounts to almost 3 000 000 tons. And this terminal will be able to ship up to 300 thousand tons per year. Dredging will be conducted near the berth for possible mooring of dry cargo vessels with displacement of up to 5 thousand tons. In order to protect the shore area from washing out, the company will harness the shore, using a modern dredger “Watermaster Classic IV” (Finland), which was purchased in November 2011.   The key element during the construction of “NIBULON’s” facilities is an environmental protection. In order to protect the Dnipro River from pollution in “Kozats’ka” branch there was implemented the technology of cleaning household wastewater, using ultrafiltration membrane bioreactors produced by “Mitsubishi” (Japan).   The social component is very important for “NIBULON”. The company allocates funds for the social infrastructure development in villages where “NIBULON” opens its branches. Everyone who will attend an opening of the terminal in Kozats’ke village will drive along the newly built road through the whole village with modern lighting and road marking. That is why “NIBULON’s” arrival in Kozats’ke village was of great social importance for locals. The terminal construction will give locals an opportunity to get a job as the facility will create 60 new jobs.   Young generation of Kozats’ke village could feel positive changes of cooperation with “NIBULON”. “NIBULON” undertook obligations towards the whole village which are carried out by the company regularly. So, due to the company’s funds comprehensive secondary school received assistance in the amount of UAH 330 thousand. School yard, tiolets on two floors, and also classroom of informatics were repaired. Besides, new furniture, computers, and multimedia board were purchased. Due to funds, received by the village council from the land sale, current repair in the kindergarten “Kazka” was performed, furniture and equipment in the amount of UAH 500 thousand were purchased. Hereon positive moments for locals of Kozats’ke village do not finish: in the local house of culture and gymnasium repair in the amount of UAH 200 thousand has been started.
