In July 2020, NIBULON, a leader in the Ukrainian shipbuilding, has signed with the French Shipyard OCEA a Memorandum of Mutual Understanding to build Fast Patrol Boats type OCEA FPB 98 MKI* as part of the government project to strengthen maritime safety and security of Ukraine. The signing of a Memorandum and a contract to build patrol boats between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and OCEA was held at NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard where 5 out of 20 patrol boats will be built. OCEA has chosen NIBULON as it is the only contractor in Ukraine with the experience and technological expertise required to build patrol boats, thereby testifying a high professional level of Ukrainian shipbuilders and the compliance of products with the strict European standards. NIBULON’s shipyard specializes in steel works, but the company has already had experience in working with ship’s aluminum. The cooperation with OCEA will enable the company to get access to modern technologies to work with aluminum alloy, to expand the range of vessels, as well as to build military and civil catamarans of various classes, including special purpose ones.For more than 30 years, the OCEA group is a world leader in the design and construction of aluminium vessels from 15 to 90 meters. OCEA has developed a whole range of fast patrol boats (FPB) and offshore patrol vessels (OPV) intended for coast-guards maritime safety and security missions.While the companies are preparing to start building boats in Ukraine, which is planned at the beginning of 2022, NIBULON, together with OCEA, will participate in the 17th International Specialized Exhibition “Arms and Security – 2021”. The exhibition will be held at the International Exhibition Center (Kyiv, 15 Brovarskyi Ave.) from June 15 to June 18 with the participation of more than 200 companies, including foreign ones.The guests and participants will have a unique opportunity to share their skills and to adopt the experience. As part of the future cooperation, NIBULON and OCEA will have a common exhibition booth No.1-D21, as the Ukrainian-French team has much to share.NIBULON will present its achievements in the civil shipbuilding – the building of Ukraine’s most modern fleet.
