“NIBULON” has a lot of its own traditions established by years. One of these traditions is its own vegetable production diversity of which is borderless. Since the beginning of the transshipment terminal operation in Mykolayiv city the terminal became a real oasis and one of the centers of vegetable growing according to “NIBULON’s” practice. Vegetable production was started with one of Mykolayiv branches, RE “Lidiyivs’ka” that was the first among “NIBULON’s” production branches to start growing vegetables on its fields. Firstly, the branch supplied vegetables to its canteen and then started delivering “vitamins” to the café of the transshipment terminal. Following the experience of the branch other branches of “NIBULON” started growing vegetables. Every year the staff of the company cultivates a lot of “vitamins” which are used for food preparation in the company’s café. It is amazing that diversity of vegetables is located directly in the territory of the terminal among grain storages and buildings supplementing them harmoniously. Another benefit of it is a possibility to use every meter of the terminal’s territory effectively. “At present we supply cucumbers to the terminal’s café on a full scale. Since the beginning of the year 950 kg of cucumbers have been already delivered. By June we have delivered cucumbers, cultivated in greenhouses, and then vegetables cultivated only in the open ground. We deliver almost 25-30 kg of tomatoes, 11-15 kg of sweet pepper every day. We have already gathered and delivered early cabbage and planted the late one instead. We will start gathering it in September. 365 days of a year, in the café personnel eat herbs and onions cultivated by us (in the greenhouses and in the garden)”, Valentyna Dyka, the landscape engineer, says. Such vegetation is not only in greenhouses but also at farming sectors of the company. Traditionally the whole terminal, a modern architectural complex with well matched landscape design, delights the eye with its flower diversity. A lot of flowerbeds were laid out at the terminal and now it is impossible to count different sorts of flowers collected here. There are about hundreds of sorts of flowers including flowers of not only our climatic zone but also exotic ones at the terminal. At present petunias, marigolds, and exotic grassy hibiscus delight the eye of the terminal’s personnel and visitors. Soon the personnel of the landscape sector will be busy in gathering and laying-in of their own seeds in order to share this “treasure” with their colleagues from the company’s branches in autumn.
