Ukraine has got a unique chance to tell the world about its achievements in domestic agriculture. For the first time in the history a representative of our country Oleksiy Vadaturskyy, Hero of Ukraine, the General Director of “NIBULON”, became a nominee for the most prestigious World Food Prize. It is an analog of the Nobel Prize in the agrarian sector to be awarded for prominent achievements in the agriculture development not only in a separate country but also in the world.
“A lot of unique people won this prize. For example, presidents of Brazil, Congo, an Israeli inventor of the drop irrigation system got the prize last year. In 2013, for the first time in the history, a representative from Ukraine can get the World Food Prize”, Volodymyr Klymenko, the president of the Ukrainian Grain Association, announced.
It is symbolic that the public was informed of this unique event during another important event in the life of “NIBULON”, one of the leaders of the agrarian market of Ukraine, the solemn meeting on the occasion of an opening of the first river transshipment terminal for grain and oilseeds in Kozats’ke village, Kherson region. The Ukrainian Grain Association nominated Oleksiy Vadaturskyy for such a prestigious prize due to implementation of the all Ukrainian patriotic investment project on the revival of the Dnipro and Southern Bug rivers as transport water ways of Ukraine.
According to Sergiy Stoyanov, the general director of the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation, “NIBULON’s” ideas are reigning over minds of the highest officials of the country. “Recently I have heard Mykola Azarov, the prime minister of Ukraine, speaking of a necessity to develop a network of elevators, to revive navigation along the Dnipro river and, in fact, he was expressing ideas Oleksiy Vadaturskyy has been speaking about for almost five years wherever it is possible. The fact that the highest officials express your ideas, Oleksiy Opanasovych, also testifies about your moral and professional leadership”, Sergiy Stoyanov added.
Scopes and efficiency of “NIBULON’s” work are also appreciated abroad. In his greeting on the occasion of the terminal opening Morgan Williams, the president of the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council, mentioned that the Council highly appreciates the company’s work on expansion of the transport infrastructure and hopes for recognition of Oleksiy Vadaturskyy’s work in the world.
“We follow common values and have a common goal, namely to speed up an economic growth of Ukraine, to improve a well-being of the Ukrainian people and at the same time to solve a global problem concerning providing with food for people of our planet. We highly appreciate “NIBULON’s” contribution and your personal contribution to the development of the agriculture and transport infrastructure of Ukraine… We hope that your example will be inherited in Ukraine by both Ukrainian and foreign companies, your example will become famous and will be appreciated outside Ukraine properly”, Morgan Williams, the president of the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council, mentioned in his letter of congratulations in the name of O.Vadaturskyy, the General Director of “NIBULON”.
“Kozats’ka” branch became the southernmost transshipment terminal of “NIBULON” on the Dnipro River allowing to consider the terminal to be the real southern gate for export of the Ukrainian grain. It will be possible to store 76 thousand tons of commodities there, annual volume of transshipment is up to 300 thousand tons, and maximum daily volume of shipment on water transport will be 10 thousand tons. Further grain crops will be delivered to the transshipment terminal of “NIBULON” in Mykolayiv and from there to the global markets.
Besides, in Kozats’ke village there will be located another proud of “NIBULON” and the whole country – its new river fleet which was constructed for carriage of bulk cargos.
The facility was constructed over a period of 3 months. Exactly this term was agreed between management of “NIBULON” and Mykola Kostyak, the governor of the region, when laying the first stone of construction. “It is the most ecological and modern facility, it is a powerful terminal that will give a stimulus to develop not only a port but also the social infrastructure. Transport leg for carriers who transport grain in Odesa and Mykolayiv cities at present will be reduced by 200 km. Due to the construction of another two terminals we will get an opportunity to relief our roads considerably”, mentioned Mykola Kostyak, the head of Kherson regional state administration, opening the newly-built elevator.
“NIBULON’s” team says that they managed to implement the project in the amount of UAH 170 mln thanks to unique conditions created for investments in the region. “Systematic work with investors is carried out. In order to solve problems of big companies with supervisory authorities a separate working group that responds to our problems, makes prompt and effective decisions was created. I even got a certificate, specifying that elevator can accept trucks and ship grain, on the day of the terminal opening  without a necessity to overcome bureaucratic obstacles in offices of officials during three months”, Oleksiy Vadaturskyy says. This experience of cooperation with authorities in Kherson region will cover other regions.
“The region also receives “trendy bonuses” from cooperation. “NIBULON” is a well-known brand that with its presence does not only influence on the regional infrastructure but also gives signals to other investors informing of creation of comfort conditions for an investment”, Viktor Pelyh, the head of regional council, noted.
Traditionally, an arrival of “NIBULON” in a region is always marked by a number of social projects. According to Andriy Chyrko, the head of Kozats’ke village, the transshipment terminal became the first industrial terminal on the territory of the village for the last 20 years. “We got more than 70 new working places at once. Besides, the village experiences a very powerful stimulus to the social development. Half of UAH 3 mln received by the budget of the village from “NIBULON” was directed to the kindergarten reconstruction. Besides, we repair a house of culture and gymnasium where Olympic reserve of freestyle wrestling will be trained. Almost 3 km of a new road was constructed, it will be lighten soon, and we will also construct another one. Locals who suffered from several storms and lost a roof over the head in the true sense of the word are very much obliged to “NIBULON”. The company provided roof re-slating and other building materials at its expense for those who suffered most of all”, Andriy Chyrko says.
In response Oleksiy Vadaturskyy thanked regional authorities, builders, locals of Kozats’ke village for support during the terminal construction. He also informed that the company will start constructing other river terminals in Kherson region.
Notably that with putting into operation of the elevator in Pereyaslav-Khmel’nyts’kyy town of Kyiv region which is planned for the near future “NIBULON” will complete creation of the river navigable water way with length of 680 km from the North to South. In order the river navigable water way to operate in full force it is necessary to conduct dredging works of the Dnipro River for which the company has been already prepared. “We have already performed required researches and investigations, we have found out types and location of rocks to be removed. An estimated cost of the project will be about Euro 5 mln. In July, during the next meeting of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine we will report on readiness to start dredging works. I think that we will perform these works during four months in this navigation period. Then the safe navigation along the Dnipro River from Kherson to Kyiv cities will be opened”, Oleksiy Vadaturskyy announced.
The leading experts of the agrarian market points that “NIBULON’s” allocation of big investments for revival and development of navigation along the Dnipro and Southern Bug Rivers, construction of the transshipment terminals, and its own fleet became possible due to leadership qualities, patience, persistence of Oleksiy Vadaturskyy, and effective economic activity of the company.
All these led to a success of the company and Oleksiy Vadaturskyy’s nomination for the World Food Prize.
