To date, the Ukrainian industry is in a very difficult situation. However, our company, as a leader, accepts the challenges and immediately looks for solutions to these problems. We give people hope that we will save the team and we will move on together. That is why all our divisions are operating in the usual way. Of course, we took all the necessary decisions and we take all measures to exclude the transmission of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) between employees.Even during such a crisis, we must develop ourselves and open new markets. One of the key moments for the company to enter the international shipbuilding market is the introduction of an integrated management system at NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard with its subsequent certification (certification body – Bureau Veritas Ukraine).An integrated management system (IMS) is a basis for the sustainable development of the enterprise. It ensures its successful operation in the financial, production, environmental and social spheres. The goal of the IMS is to organically combine all the components of the shipyard’s activity for synergistic optimization and to improve the efficiency of its work. It is important that the IMS is based on compliance with international standards, in particular ISO 9001: 2015 Quality management systems, ISO 14001:2015 Environmental management systems and ISO 45001: 2018 Occupational health and safety management systems in the field of shipbuilding and ship repair.  NIBULON’s specialists are actively engaged in introducing them. Certification of NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard to these standards implies the development of positions in the domestic and international markets of small- and medium-tonnage shipbuilding and ship repair due to: expanding the range of products and services that meet modern market requirements in terms of quality standards; the improvement of manufacturing processes through careful study and implementation of the requirements of customers and stakeholders; the maximum involvement of the creative potential of workers to create the necessary conditions to achieve the main goal; ensuring safe working conditions and respect for the environment and the company.High-quality development, implementation and continuous improvement of the IMS at NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard requires suitably trained specialists – certified internal auditors. The top management of the company has a clear understanding of this. And it organized training for shipbuilding specialists by signing a series of agreements with Bureau Veritas Ukraine (a worldwide company that is a member of the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) and is one of the three classification bodies in shipbuilding and ship repair that has official approval from the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine). In March 2020, 30 specialists underwent courses at NIBULON’s training center for training internal auditors in such areas: ISO 9001:2015 Quality management systems fundamentals and internal audits. ISO 19011:2018 requirements; Risk-management system: principles, risks assessment recommendations and general techniques. Based on ISO 31000 standards (ISO 31000 and ISO 31010); Integrated management systems based on ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 standards. Internal auditor training course. PAS 99 and ISO 19011:2018 requirements.With the introduction of quarantine restrictions in Ukraine from March 12 by decision of the authorities, the training format was changed. The group was divided into small groups (the number of participants was limited as prescribed by law and social distancing was observed). We took all the measures to ensure the safety of the participants.According to the results of the training, NIBULON’s employees have successfully passed the exams and have already received their certificates. They became IMS certified internal auditors.Certification of NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard for compliance with the IMS requirements of ISO 9001: 2015, ISO 14001: 2015 and ISO 45001: 2018 standards is scheduled for the end of May 2020 (certification body – Bureau Veritas Ukraine). The company’s team supports the approach because now people are even more motivated to work. Therefore, we are confidently moving forward, and we are optimistic about the future.
