The Kyiv guests visited Mykolaiv for the first time as part of the “Returning the cultural heritage to Ukraine” project which aims at returning handwritten books dating from Ukraine-Rus times, which originals are held in private collections, libraries, and museums abroad. While travelling, the delegation broadens its outlook by visiting interesting locations to share news about Ukraine with friends and partners, and to inspire their audiences.Hanna Gorobets, a publishing house director, said that they chose NIBULON as it was a renowned company. They started to learn about Mykolaiv region from the very center of Ukrainian shipbuilding. Mykola Raspopov, a leading process engineer at the shipyard’s design and technological department, organized an excursion at NIBULON’s facilities. Firstly, they visited an assembly fabrication workshop. Having inspected the workshop, the guests gained an understanding of the amounts of efforts made and money invested. The visitors saw the construction process of the non-self-propelled B5000M project vessels. The guests then visited a metal cleaning and priming workshop with Rösler preservation line where metal plates are cut and painted, and a metal processing workshop where metal is cut to produce various parts using modern equipment from the world’s leading suppliers. In addition, the guests were interested in the launching and lifting gear (a slipway) and the Mykolaivets dredger working together with the hopper barges. “NIBULON does much for Ukraine. The shipyard’s revival is an important factor for Ukraine’s prestige, thereby leading to the creation of new workplaces and the development of Ukraine. We are walking across the shipyard, and we are proud of our nation”, says Diana Shamrai, a publishing house manager. The publishing house director was impressed by the shipyard and said that her team would inform people about the company so that Kyiv citizens could be inspired by NIBULON’s achievements. “I was mostly impressed by the flowers at the facility, rather than by the launching gear and high-capacity cranes. The shipyard’s management creates conditions for the shipbuilders to live in harmony with nature. Modern workshops ensure good working conditions. Specialists such as Mykola Raspopov are devoted to their work. I am very pleased that graduates from higher vocational schools, colleges and universities regularly undergo practical training and get a job at NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard. This is the best proof of success. Shipbuilding in Ukraine has prospects. Today the shipyard has convinced me that our country is a prospective shipbuilder”, shared his impressions Viktor Moiseenko, a professor of the Ukrainian language department at Ivan Franko Zhytomyr State University.
