NIBULON’s Vitove Branch has Received One Million Tons of Agricultural Commodities

The Vitove branch transshipment terminal for grain and oilseeds receipt, storage and shipment by river transport was built in two months in 2009. The facility construction was extremely important for the company and the entire country, as NIBULON’s large-scale investment project to revive Ukrainian rivers as transport arteries has been started from this very facility in Cherkasy region. In spring 2010, the NBL-015 non-self-propelled vessel accompanied by the Prybuzhanivskyi tug made their first cargo trip along the Dnipro River. The vessels moored the facility’s berth in Cherkasy region for the first time, and the terminal loaded 3,000 tons of barley into the holds of the newly built vessel. Now another important milestone has been reached by Vitove branch. It has received one million tons of agricultural commodities. Since it commenced operations, the transshipment terminal has received corn, wheat, soybean, sunflower, rapeseed, barley, and sorghum. The specialists at the transshipment terminal have signed 936 agreements with agricultural producers mostly from Cherkasy and Kirovohrad regions. According to the branch director, Vadym Kichuk, “Due to NIBULON, Ukraine has a well-developed system of river terminals which significantly reduce the traffic load on highways in various regions of Ukraine. The Vitove branch was the very first facility in the country to ship grain by water transport. I am very happy to be a director at this facility. We have now received first million tons of agricultural commodities. As we have well-coordinated team work plus modern technological equipment and suppliers, it will not the last one”.In addition to receiving agricultural commodities, the transshipment terminal constantly ships grain by water transport. Since it commenced operations, Vitove branch has made shipments using about 350 non-self-propelled vessels, having transported almost 843 thousand tons of grain cargoes along the Dnipro River. Consequently, the company has managed to remove more than 35 thousand trucks from Ukrainian highways from the center to the port cities of the country. We would remind you that in 2010 and 2013, NIBULON increased the facility’s capacity by building six additional silos of 5.5 tons each and by installing the third dryer (Cimbria Unigrain), which are connected to the existing technological complex. Thus, the Vitove branch transshipment terminal is a modern fully automated facility, and 100 experienced employees ensure its continuous operation. The facility can store 75.2 thousand tons simultaneously; the river transport shipment capacity is 5,000 tons per day; the drying capacity is 5,000 tons per day.Since NIBULON commenced its operations, the company has allocated more than USD 2.3 billion to develop Ukraine’s economy. Due to the constant and persistent implementation of its investment project, the company has now 27 high-capacity river terminals and elevator complexes across Ukraine and 82 units of the most modern Ukrainian fleet, which can transport 3.8 million tons of various cargoes by inland waterways per year. The company plans to transport 4.5-5 million tons of cargoes by water annually. We would remind you that the Kozatska branch transshipment terminal was the first to receive 2 million tons of agricultural commodities.
