NIBULON’s Unique History

Over these years, the company’s team has increased from 7 to 7,000 employees; the number of NIBULON’s facilities has increased from several branches in Mykolaiv region to 50 branches within Ukraine.
The company has been considerably developing itself for 28 years. We have learnt how to grow qualitative agricultural commodities; we have mastered construction, shipbuilding, and navigation. The company assists schools and hospitals, cities and villages, children and the military. NIBULON’s history is being built of small and big victories, kind and intelligent people as well as unique events which we would like to recollect.
1991 – NIBULON was established. Today NIBULON is a Ukrainian company with its central office in Mykolaiv. Hero of Ukraine Oleksiy Vadaturskyy is NIBULON’s General Director and a majority owner. Andriy Vadaturskyy is a co-owner and a chairman of the Supervisory Board.
1996 – The company created 4 branches in Mykolaiv and Luhansk regions. At present, we have 50 branches in twelve regions of Ukraine. The company is proud of its facilities.
1998 – A unique event in the history of Ukrainian business was held. An agricultural producer received a loan from the International Bank of Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) for the first time in Ukraine. NIBULON was this very agricultural producer. NIBULON directed a USD 5 million loan to buy agricultural machinery of about USD 9 million as part of its “Export Development Project” program. Upon successful program completion, the IBRD awarded NIBULON a certificate, recognizing NIBULON as the most successful company.
2002  – We started constructing the transshipment terminal for grain and oilseeds shipments in Mykolaiv. The company built two domes of 50 thousand tons each to store grain, using a unique technology. They are the largest half-spherical structures in Europe. NIBULON’s transshipment terminal is a pearl of the Ukrainian industrial architecture. This facility ranked first in the “Best buildings and structures constructed and put into operation in 2004 in Ukraine” competition and was awarded first-degree certificate under the “Industrial Facilities” category.
2003 – NIBULON loaded at its transshipment terminal (Mykolaiv) the first D.S. PIONEER vessel (Cyprus) with fodder barley for export.
2006 – We constructed 2 more up-to-date elevators of Reshetylivska branch in Poltava region and of Zolotoniska branch in Cherkasy region. This year we have already celebrated an opening of NIBULON’s 27th facility in Zaporizhzhia region. We are proud that our elevator facilities and transshipment terminals in every region are recognized as model ones in terms of operation arrangement and techniques. The company implements this approach to all its activities.
2009 – We have started changing a logistic map in the entire country. NIBULON started implementing its largest investment project to revive inland waterways. The project includes the construction of the transshipment terminals along the Dnipro and the Sothern Buh, the building of fleet, and the development of navigation. At present, the company’s fleet comprises 76 vessels which transport 3.5 million tons of products per year by waterways. We are not going to stop at what has been accomplished.
2012 – A terrible situation in the Ukrainian shipbuilding made NIBULON develop this sector, although it was unknown for the company. We created NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard. Currently, it is one of a few Ukrainian shipyards, which constructs complete vessels. The shipyard constructs 8-10 vessels annually, depending on the order complexity and deadweight.
2016 – NIBULON masters new activities every year. We decided to revive passenger transportation. In 2016, the company made first passenger trips by river, and then we arranged regular trips “Voznesensk – Kovalivka – Nova Odesa – Mykolaiv” and “Nova Kakhovka – Kherson – Hola Prystan”. Trips to the Kinburn Spit have become the most popular with Ukrainians. Thus, we made passenger transportation popular again.
2017 – NIBULON officially opened the International Shipbuilding-2017 Exhibition and Water Transport Exhibition. Since 2017, the number of guests has increased from 3,000 persons to about 10,000 people in 2019. This exhibition has become one of the largest sectoral events in Ukraine.
2019 – As part of the forum, NIBULON demonstrated an exciting water show with the participation of its vessels of the entire fleet series.
2019 – As part of the forum, the company put into operation a 150 m self-propelled river-sea floating vessel with two cranes and a grain storage of 13,400 m3 into operation. NIBULON MAX is the largest vessel since 25 years of Ukraine’s independence and the largest one in the shipyard’s history.
It seems we have achieved everything we planned. No, we have not. We have just picked up speed and are ready to make new achievements. We are ready to master new activities and set records. Our team is not afraid of obstacles and challenges, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with NIBULON’s General Director Oleksiy Vadaturskyy. We are NIBULON, and “Don’t Give Up” is our motto.
