Participation of “NIBULON’s” experts (headed by Deputy General Director of Safety Navigation Andriy Volik) in the 25th Shipbuilding, Machinery&MarineTechnologyInternational TradeFair “SMM-2012”, held in September, in Hamburg city (Germany), contributed to successful implementation of the company’s investment project, including development of our own shipping company, conclusion of agreements with shipbuilding equipment suppliers. SMM is the largest trade and business site in the maritime industry where the companies from all over the world introduce their innovations and technologies, define further development of the maritime sector. The first exhibition was held in 1963 and since then it has been held once in two years. This year there were introduced above 2000 exhibits from 58 countries. There were the following thematic sections: “Shipbuilding, shipyards”; “Shipbuilding fittings”; “Engines, propulsion systems”; “Cargo systems”; “Ports and port technology”; “Marine radio communication service”; “Shipbrokers and charters”; ‘Ship owners”; “National pavilions”. At the exhibition there was also introduced the Ukrainian shipbuilding sector. In particular, in the course of negotiations with the management of Odesa Marine Engineering Bureau, which introduced its own designs of multipurpose vessels of “Volgo-Don Max” class, there were discussed possibilities to modernize “NIBULON’s” RSD-44 project (“Volgo-Don Max” type). The same issues were discussed with the representatives of Russian, Romanian companies, namely “Neva shipbuilding and ship repair yard”, “Oks’ka Shiyard”, “Severnav S.A.”, “SNC”, and others. In order to construct the floating crane of POSS 901 project and tugs of POSS-115 project, there were also discussed questions on operation, choosing the main equipment suppliers, work of their maintenance departments, and choosing technical decisions as to projects. Concerning equipment, “NIBULON’s” experts carried out several meetings with the suppliers and manufacturers: “Schotel” (rudder propellers), “Alewijnse” (electric equipment), “DMT” (deck equipment), “DCA Sander” (fitting manufacturer), “GEA Westfalia Separator Group” (separating equipment), “J.P. SAUER & SOHN (compressor equipment), “Liebherr” (crane equipment); “Kampsafe” (galley and laundry equipment), and others. The meetings carried out with participation of equipment suppliers for “TTS” and “KEMCO” shipyards became very important for “NIBULON”. There were discussed questions on reconstruction of the former shipyard “Lyman” and delivery of appropriate equipment. The exhibition peculiarity was a familiarization of its participants with introduced shipbuilding innovations, such as propulsion complexes with modern control systems, automatic equipment to install hydraulic joints, rudder propellers with counter rotating propellers, and others. Therefore, participation of “NIBULON’s” specialists in the exhibition will give an opportunity not only to become familiar with the leading experience of the world manufacturers in the shipbuilding industry but also to implement new and innovative technologies and involve the best specialists in cooperation with the company.
