The cargo trip lasted almost a week and has become a jubilee trip for the company. Tomorrow Kherson watermelons will be delivered in refrigerators to a final destination point – Silpo supermarkets (Fozzy Group) to make buyers happy. Considering that the necessity to reduce traffic load on highways and to transport cargoes from the south of Ukraine to other regions is an important issue, the transportation by water is a top priority issue and deserves particular attention. In 1991, when Ukraine declared its independence, 60 million tons of cargoes were transported by inland waterways, whereas now this figure is reduced to 8 million tons. Although watermelon transportation by river is not an achievement at the national level, but it draws attention to the current problem. In addition, real steps to revive transport logistics on Ukrainian waterways cannot but make happy.Every year NIBULON does much to revive a transport network of inland waterways in Ukraine at its own expense. Since 2009, the company has been efficiently implementing its large-scale investment program to revive the Dnipro and the Southern Buh as main transport arteries. NIBULON has already built 13 modern river transshipment terminals. The company revived navigation along these rivers at its own expense and dredged 154 km by using its own machinery. Today NIBULON has the required experience and capacities to conduct loading and unloading operations to deliver high-quality products to other Ukrainian regions by using its own fleet flying the flag of Ukraine, built from Ukrainian metal by Ukrainian shipbuilders at NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard.
