Training will proceed in two stages. The first, theoretical stage will cover the study of the methodology of effective non-technical and technical survey of territories, manual demining, demining in the post-combat area and machine demining. The next, practical stage involves training and acquiring practical skills for operators and mechanics who will ensure the work and smooth functioning of machines from GCS. Already reported, NIBULON will receive four machines for demining produced by GCS as part of the develoPPP financing program of the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany – BMZ thanks to the support of DEG Impulse gGMBH, a subsidiary of DEG. The mechanized approach will significantly increase the speed of demining Ukrainian lands and reduce risk to the deminers’ lives. At the initial stage, the machines will be used to clear agricultural land and critical infrastructure facilities in the de-occupied districts of Mykolaiv region from mines and unexploded ordnance. NIBULON plans to provide relevant services to all interested persons and organizations in the future.According to GCS CEO and co-founder Philipp van Michaelis, who solemnly congratulated NIBULON employees on the start of training, the GCS company team plans to train the most productive and professional team of deminers in Ukraine. GCS wants to help Ukraine clear its territories, so they will do everything possible to make NIBULON people set the standard for how mechanical demining should be used. The GCS-200 demining machine was developed and manufactured in Germany by the Swiss company Global Clearance Solutions, whose portfolio extends from mechanized demining equipment to in-country service and maintenance, as well as training. It is designed for heavy demining tasks with maximum survivability in harsh environmental conditions. The machine eliminates explosive remnants of war, such as anti-tank and anti-personnel mines, with full remote control. This minimizes the risk to the operator's life during demining.
