On March 14, 2013 NIBULON was visited by students of Kherson Agrarian State University and teachers of the National University of Bioresources and Environmental Management of Ukraine (Kyiv city). The guests visited the transshipment terminal for shipment of grain and oil crops in Mykolayiv city. It was the first acquaintance of the guests with NIBULON and its transshipment terminal. Thus, they diligently memorize everything they saw and each word of Sergiy Filenko, the deputy’s director of the terminal and a guide that day. First of all NIBULON’s laboratory and administrative building commissioned in March 2011 was introduced to the guests. It was necessary for the future technologists to see the process of grain analysis, equipment used during grain analysis and standards. According to the youth, the most useful thing was familiarization with equipment which is a novelty for them. Familiarizing themselves with the laboratory operation, the guests were able to compare bread baked from flour of different quality. Yuriy Vlasenko, an associate professor of the economic theory department of the National University of Bioresources and Environmental Management of Ukraine, mentioned, “I am impressed by NIBULON’s range of work. It was useful to familiarize with the terminal (NIBULON’s cradle) and its manufacturing scheme, especially with the stages of grain receipt and shipment. As for me, these are one of the most difficult elements in the terminal work and they must be performed only by highly qualified specialists. Today we have been convinced of professional competence of your laboratory assistants”. During the excursion the guests became familiar with the transshipment terminal production scheme – from motor transport arrival to sampling, weighting and shipment of agricultural products. They visited the berth and observed NIBULON’s non-self-propelled fleet, process of vessel loading. Alevtyna Nikulina, a 4-year student of the specialization “Technology of processing and storage of crop products”, shared her impressions, “I was impressed not only by the terminal’s technical equipment but also by labour conditions created here. It also concerns outside design of the transshipment terminal, its landscape gardening, and cosiness of workplaces. We did not miss an opportunity to take pictures of elevators, vessels. These photos will become a decoration of our university album. As a future technologist, I was impressed by automation of manufacturing processes that increases accuracy and quality of work, facilitates the work itself at your European transshipment terminal”.
