The dams on the Dnipro caused considerable changes in the ecosystems of all its areas, including in the lower reaches of the river, thereby causing silting, overgrowth, and accumulation of organic substances. This resulted in the worsening of conditions for living organisms and the overall environmental situation. This situation becomes more serious. These negative changes affected the Bobrove Ozero landscape reserve, which is of great importance for its various broadleaf plants, including species listed in the Red Book, the Green Book of Ukraine, and the Red List in Kherson region, and is in the area of a flyway through the Dnipro Ecological Corridor of the national environmental network of Ukraine. As a result, the level of fish stocking in the lake is in a critical condition; the number of local fauna is also reduced. NIBULON always helps to solve urgent community issues. Thus, the company decided to help the public organization “Ukrainian Society for the Protection of Birds” to save the Bobrove Lake. According to Kherson scientists, the flow of water through the lake needed to be increased by cleaning 9 existing straits and shallow channels joining the lake with the rivers Konka and Chaika. NIBULON performed these works using its NIBULON-7 dredger.Due to its dimensions (10.1 m and 3.2 m), draught (0.6 m) and several multipurpose equipment, such as an excavator with bucket, hydraulic cutter and rake, the NIBULON-7 dredger is extremely mobile and operates efficiently in difficult conditions. Due to NIBULON’s well-coordinated team and efficient hydraulic equipment, the company restored the water flow through the lake and the hydrological regime in two weeks. NIBULON cleaned the bottom on the area of 7,696 square meters, removing 6,863 cubic meters of bottom soil (an equivalent of 190 trucks), which was then stored on the shores of the cleaned straits.Please note that NIBULON has already rescued Zaporizhzhia region from environmental disaster by saving tens of thousands of so-iuy mullet from death in the Molochnyi Estuary located in the territory of Pryazovskyi National Park (Zaporizhzhia region).In addition to the NIBULON-7 dredger, the company’s fleet also contains the high-capacity Mykolaivets SDS -15 project dredger built at NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard. It can dredge to a depth of 9 m with a slurry transportation length of up to 1,500 m by using a hydraulic pump unit with a capacity of 2,000 cubic meters per hour. This vessel has already proved its efficient operation on the Ukrainian rivers.
