This year, spring has come to Ukraine with a delay that is why sowing campaign had to be shifted for 2 weeks. Currently, production units of “NIBULON” have already sown the main cultures of wedge spring. Sorghum and soybean sowing is being completed lately. The first intercultivation of cultivated crops will be started next week. In the current season sowing of spring crop was done within the area of 40.8 thousand hectares, including: corn – within the area of ​​15.9 thousand hectares, sunflower seeds – 13.5 thousand hectares, soy – 3.4 thousand hectares, sorghum – 3.3 thousand hectares, spring barley – 1.1 thousand hectares, buckwheat – 230 hectares and other crops – about 2 thousand hectares. Soybean sowing area doubled in comparison with last year, at present the culture holds 5% in the general structure of the company’s crops. In addition, sowings of corn and sorghum have been slightly increased. At the same time winter and spring care works and cultivation of fallow areas is conducted. Currently harrowing was carried in the area of 12.5 thousand hectares of the planned 16 thousand hectares, rolling down of sowings of 14 thousand hectares from 15 thousand hectares, application of soil herbicides – in the area of ​​about 23.5 hectares. The first cultivation of winter crops with herbicides and fungicides is finished. Works are conducted in the area of ​​23 thousand hectares from 29 thousand scheduled for processing. According to the production department of “NIBULON”, carbamide and crop protecting agents are already purchased for the second cultivation for foliar feeding and protection of winter crops. Works for fighting the corn bug are conducted. According to the deputy director general of production Kostyantyn Khmel’nyts’kyy, the majority of population has wintered this season successfully, so now an important task is an active protection of grain in order to obtain good harvest. The important fact! This year, all agricultural raw materials before sowing were tested on unique equipment. As reported previously, in late 2010 at the transshipment terminal of “NIBULON” in Mykolayiv a laboratory to determine the GMO was established, it is equipped with modern analytical equipment of well-known manufacturers such as: “Applied Biosystems” (the USA), “EPPENDORF” (Germany), “BioSan” (Latvia). So all this year’s seed grain was tested for GMO! Samples of modifications were not found. Since January 2011 laboratory has conducted over 1200 examinations. Along with the planned examinations specialists of the laboratory can conduct tests for GMO in food and agricultural raw materials on request of any manufacturers. Thus, someone who tries to produce qualitative products and values his reputation today can make use of the company’s services. “NIBULON” doesn’t stand aside of the general trend of global science development, which is the driving force of economic development. Therefore, in the production of agricultural products the company pays special attention to advanced technologies. The company gets from its fields 80% of grain of I -II class for some years in succession.  “NIBULON” is convinced that success in the grain market means a qualitative harvest and safety of agricultural production.
