Construction of “NIBULON’s” own fleet is a key element of the patriotic investment project on the revival of the Dnipro river and other rivers of Ukraine as transport navigable waterways. Within the implementation of this large-scale project, after consideration and detail review of commercial offers from Ukrainian and foreign shipbuilding yards, on July 2, 2012 “NIBULON” group signed a contract for the construction of a floating crane of POSS-901 project at shipbuilding yard in Constanta city, Romania which sent the most competitive offer. The design bureau “Torolla Design Group” developed the project. This design bureau is an old and reliable partner of our company. According to the preliminary specification of “NIBULON” the design bureau has already developed projects of non-self-propelled vessels and tugs which are ploughing the Dnipro river and work for the benefit of the Ukrainian economy successfully. “NIBULON’s” management and specialists also participated in the project development actively and often visited the shipbuilding yard in Romania. Soon there will be held a keel-laying of the floating crane of POSS-901project. According to the experts the given vessel will be the most productive transshipment floating crane in Ukraine. The floating crane is designed for carrying out loading/unloading operations in grab mode with crane capacity up to 45 tons and in hook mode – up to 60 tons on inland waterways, on the Azov Sea, and on the Black Sea coastal area up to 20 miles – the whole year round. Technical characteristics of the floating crane ensure carrying out loading/unloading operations with wave height up to 1.5 m and wind strength up to 20m/s. Main characteristics of the floating crane: – length maximal -52.3 m; – breadth – 22 m; – draft (light) -2 m; – displacement (draft of 2 m) – about 2000 tons; – speed – not less than 4 knots. Lifting capacity: – grab mode (boom reach 32 m) = 45 tons; – hook mode (boom reach 26 m) = 60 tons. The vessel will be equipped with 4 diesel-generators of 420kW each and there will be also applied a diagram of electric drive of propulsion system. The floating crane construction will be performed under the supervision of the Shipping Register of Ukraine and will meet the requirements of all sanitary norms of Ukraine. The construction completion will be on February 28, 2013 according to a contract.
