NIBULON Continues the 2020 Harvesting Campaign of Early Grain Crops

NIBULON’s branches in the southern region were the first to start harvesting. They are now finishing harvesting. Despite difficult weather conditions in the south of Ukraine and the partial loss of winter crops because of unfavourable weather conditions in the first six months, the branches have threshed more than 25 thousand tons of grain. The harvesting campaign in the eastern region is in full swing. The branches have already harvested winter barley and wheat on 50% of the planned areas. Bilovodska branch, with an average yield of 40.0 dt/ha, takes leadership positions in harvesting winter barley. Kupianska (50.5 dt/ha), Bilovodska (47.2 dt/ha), and Svativska (43.1dt/ha) branches are the leaders in a wheat yields. The branches in the western region are waiting for an improvement of weather conditions to start harvesting early grain crops. The production branches will harvest a yield on 9.5 thousand ha this year. According to the Deputy General Director of Agricultural Production, Kostiantyn Khmelnytskyi, the condition of crops is quite various caused by unequal water availability across Ukraine. It is much better in the eastern region and is expected to be weaker in the western part in comparison with the previous years. The south of Ukraine has faced another problem. Due to the continuous soil drought, the yield level is lower than the average perennial level. High quality wheat comprises about 90% of the yield and is stored at NIBULON’s facilities as 2nd grade grain.  NIBULON’s branches have harvested agricultural commodities on 16 thousand ha out of 33 thousand ha planned. Thus, if weather conditions are favourable, the company’s facilities will have finished the harvesting campaign by the end of this month. Kostiantyn Khmelnytskyi also forecasted the yield of late crops, “We have reasonable hopes to receive a high yield of late crops. In particular, current weather conditions promoted an adequate water supply for cultivating sunflower and corn on most of the territories in Ukraine. In addition to increased mineral nutrition, a seasonal review of hybrid seed content, and an extension of foliar nutrition, it is the main factor to receive a high yield, especially in the south.  At present the company has started preparations for the next 2021 agrarian season, in particular NIBULON purchases mineral fertilizers and seeds as well as conducts primary soil preparation to sow winter crops.
