NIBULON brought together agricultural market players for a partnership event

On July 10, NIBULON’s Voznesenska branch hosted a partnership event for Ukrainian agricultural market participants. The event was aimed at bringing together partners whose joint efforts in the 2023/24 marketing year had a direct impact on Ukraine’s ability to continue feeding the world during the war.

On this day, about 100 distinguished guests visited NIBULON’s production site, including representatives of the government, foreign embassies, businesses, financial institutions, and international donor organizations.

During the official part, Andriy Vadaturskyy, CEO of NIBULON, addressed the partners and said:

“The main achievement of NIBULON over the two and a half years of the full-scale invasion is that the company continues to operate despite the numerous damages inflicted by Russia. Let me remind you that today NIBULON represents 32% of the company’s capacities as of 2022, when elevators were destroyed, grain was stolen, and logistics on the Dnipro was disrupted, etc.

Today, we have invited you to thank each of you for your resilience, leadership, and partnership, which enable us to continue feeding the world together. At this point, we can say that NIBULON has gone through the most challenging times since the full-scale invasion began! Together we have clearly demonstrated to the world the ability of Ukrainian agribusiness to implement projects crucial for Ukraine’s economic prosperity under extremely difficult conditions.”

Vitaliy Kim, Head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, who attended the event, emphasized in his speech the crucial importance of NIBULON for Ukraine’s development:

“From the very beginning, Oleksiy Vadaturskyy built NIBULON as a European, socially responsible company, dedicated to paying taxes and intolerant of corruption. Since Andriy Vadaturskyy took over, NIBULON has maintained this vision. I am very pleased that during the full-scale war, NIBULON has managed to endure, stabilize its economic performance, restructure its financial flows, and continue to take care of people. Events like today’s one are very important because they clearly demonstrate to international partners that Ukraine is able to work under any circumstances. I am proud that Mykolaiv region is home to such companies, and I am ready to support its development initiatives in every possible way.”

Ihor Bezkaravainyi, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine, commenting on NIBULON’s contribution to the demining of Ukrainian land, said:

“For the Ministry of Economy, the demining of agricultural land is one of the key tasks, as every cleared hectare ensures the safety of people working in the fields, provides products for both domestic and foreign markets, jobs and taxes paid. That is why we have launched a compensation program for agricultural producers for the demining of agricultural land, under which the state covers 80% of the costs for agricultural producers who have already cleared their land or are only planning to do so. NIBULON was one of the first businesses to register as a mine action operator. It has already returned more than 5,000 hectares of agricultural land to use, setting a positive trend for other companies.”

An important part of the event was a tour of NIBULON’s production facilities, during which the results of joint activities were demonstrated to the participants. In particular, the guests:

  • • familiarized themselves with production processes and the updated agricultural machinery fleet purchased by NIBULON with the support of the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO);
  • • saw modern solutions for grain quality management, new laboratory equipment, and updated elevator processes;
  • • learned about new logistics solutions that improve the economics of grain transportation, including an updated fleet of trucks and trailers provided to NIBULON by the USAID Economic Resilience Activity;
  • • learned about NIBULON’s experience in humanitarian demining using modern GCS-200, which NIBULON purchases jointly with the German State Development Bank (KFW DEG);
  • • as well as learned about the experience in demining water areas using a demining boat built by NIBULON Shipbuilding and Shiprepair Yard during the war.

The partnership event for participants of Ukraine’s agricultural market also served as an excellent networking platform. The guests had the opportunity to communicate in an informal atmosphere, summarize the season, and discuss plans and objectives for the current marketing year. There is still a lot of joint work ahead under the common motto “Feeding the world together”!
