“NIBULON-3” tug, the third tug of a series POSS-115, was floated out of a dock of shipbuilding yard “Okean” on December 16, 2011. Work was carried out by efforts of teams of “NIBULON” and “Okean”. Caisson (floating gate) was opened in normal mode in the dry dock and a section of the dry dock was water flooded. Thus, “NIBULON-3” with a help of a second tug was floated out of the dock and moored to the yard’s berth. This event is kind of the equator in the construction of the vessel, which means that the construction work enters the home stretch. Thus, now work on completion of construction, installation of equipment and machinery on the tug is in progress. Symbolically, the students of Mykolayiv vocational school “Navigational school” contemplated the tug. Young smiling people dressed in uniform, bated breath and looked at the vessel, closely following her every maneuver. These young men are the future of Ukrainian navigation, and “NIBULON’s” fleet today counts on them and their professionalism. *** Construction of “NIBULON’s” tugs takes place within the patriotic investment project. Currently the fleet consists of 28 non-self-propelled vessels and 5 tugs. As to the construction of a series of tugs of POSS-115 project, the first one was launched on May 31, 2011, and the last of two being built at Mykolayiv shipbuilding yard “Okean” will be launched in February 2012. Shipbuilding plans of the company are not limited to this. In particular, deadweight of non-self-propelled fleet, which has 28 vessels in the coming year will be increased up to 250 thousand tons, a modern dredger “Watermaster Classic IV” has already been purchased (to solve problems of silting up and inconsistencies of waterways deep of Ukraine and to ensure high-performance process, as well as to improve ecological situation around its own enterprises). In December 2011 regular contracts with longtime partner of “NIBULON”, design office «POSS Torola» were signed – to design a series of new (shallow-draft) tugs and a series of new non-self-propelled vehicles – for operational use on the Southern Bug River, shallow rivers, reservoirs, etc., as well as passenger catamarans (for the revival of river passenger transportation).
