As we prepare to ring in the new year, there is so much to reflect on. 2022 has undoubtedly been one of the hardest years in our company’s – and our country’s – history.
Despite tragic losses and unimaginable disruptions, we have stayed together and kept NIBULON alive. This success is due to the resilience and determination of every one of NIBULON’s employees – those who have left to fight in the army, those who are fighting for survival in the occupied territories, and those who have continued working day in and day out to ensure that NIBULON remains a cornerstone of Ukraine’s economy.
Our partners and customers have played their role as well. Without their understanding, trust and advice, the situation would have been much harder still.
I have also learned this year how many friends and supporters we have both in Ukraine and abroad. Their kindness and generosity have been inspiring.
I believe we are all aware that we are not just working for NIBULON’s survival, we are laying the groundwork for the company to play a key role in Ukraine’s reconstruction and economic recovery.
On this note, I wish you good health, strength and energy in 2023. I am determined that NIBULON will continue to innovate and adapt to the many challenges that lie ahead of us. In the coming months, we will complete the construction of the new terminal at Izmail that will increase the company’s competitiveness and allow us to diversify our operations. At the same time, we must hope that de-occupation of the south-eastern regions of the country will lead to the re-opening in the near term of more of Ukraine’s seaports, including Mykolaiv, and allow us to deploy our fleet that remains stranded there.
However, as we look at the year ahead, we must pause for a moment and recognise the losses that we have all experienced. The brutality of war is hard to comprehend.
The darkest hour of the night comes just before dawn. I am confident that NIBULON has the resilience to cope with the challenges of the coming year and that we will soon live again in brighter times.
