The purpose of the visit was to understand the urgent needs of the region in strengthening export infrastructure, which will support Ukraine’s economy and deliver much-needed grain to global markets.Mykhailo Rizak, Director on Government Relations of NIBULON, briefed the delegation on the company’s operation. He noted that thanks to the support of international partners and Germany in particular, Ukraine has already increased exports through alternative routes from 44,000 tons at the beginning of the war to nearly 2 million tons as of September. At the same time, Ukraine’s export potential can be expanded by resolving the issue of fleet shortage on the Danube through its evacuation from Mykolaiv, expanding crane facilities for grain loading, and increasing grain transportation through Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi Bridge. This requires joint efforts of Ukrainian government, business, and international community to address issues such as reaching political agreements on fleet evacuation or initiating a compensation mechanism for damage to civilian vessels during evacuation from Mykolaiv, which is a more realistic option, providing assistance and funding for equipment and other material-technical bases for both land cultivation and grain handling, as well as providing banking guarantees to Ukrainian businesses for financing.''We are grateful to Germany and Mr. Özdemir for their attention to our company and real assistance. Thanks to the German government, NIBULON received a €4.8 million grant to purchase demining machines. This will not only allow us to return our land bank to the economy but also to provide demining services to all agricultural producers and communities interested in this'', said Mykhailo. ''Every hectare of Ukrainian black soil is equal to eight tons of high-quality grain or oil crops that can meet the needs of needy countries.''At the end of the meeting, the delegation members familiarized themselves with the work of NIBULON's laboratory. It conducts a wide range of tests on the quality of agricultural products, as well as provides necessary documents in accordance with Ukrainian legislation and trade partner countries.
