In September 2019, NIBULON officially put its NIBULON MAX 140-m self-propelled floating vessel into operation. It is the longest river-sea crane vessel built under Ukraine's flag, since Ukraine’s independence, contributing to the increase in export volumes and the development of Ukraine’s economy.The vessel’s dimensions are as follows: length – 140 m, breadth – 28 m, draught – up to 4 m, two cargo hold capacity – 13,400 cubic meters, enabling the company to operate its river cargo fleet efficiently. It can store cargoes when foreign-going vessels are not available. In 2019/20 MY, the NIBULON MAX floating vessel, operating for 9 months, has transshipped for export almost the same volume of cargoes usually handled by NIBULON’s floating cranes during a year. During its year of operation, the NIBULON MAX has proved is efficiency, having shipped for export 2.5 million tons of grain. It took the floating vessel six months to ship for export 3.5 million tons of grain. This is only the beginning for NIBULON MAX which technical capabilities enable it to transship up to 4-5 million tons per year. The NIBULON MAX vessel was a complex order built by shipbuilders at NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard within a year. It became possible due to several preparatory works and three-shift work. To build NIBULON MAX, the company modernized a slipway and reconstructed a lifting gear, thereby increasing the number of launching ways. In autumn 2018, the company purchased a Liebherr LPS 180 portal slewing crane (Liebherr-MCCTEC Rostock GmbH, Germany). In spring 2019, the company delivered equipment for its new shipbuilding order by water, namely two four-rope grab cranes CBG 360 from Liebherr-MCCTEC Rostock GmbH with a lifting capacity of 45 tons each and a capacity of 18,000 tons per day. Two cranes with a slewing range of 360° shifted by 3,600 mm to the left from central line are installed on the vessel. This enables the company to perform loading and unloading of Panamax vessels.The NIBULON MAX proves its efficiency by operating on Ukrainian inland waterways and gaining recognition in Ukrainian contests and ratings. Thus, the company won the 13th National Maritime Rating of Ukraine under the “Fleet Renewal” category. NIBULON took 1st place among Ukraine’s shipbuilding yards according to the results of the rating initiated by the Association of Shipbuilders of Ukraine Ukrsudprom in 2019.
