Oleksiy Zymovtsev, a head of the metal processing workshop, conducted an excursion for the schoolchildren.
At the beginning, the guests learnt the shipyard’s history and the principles of its operation. They saw the shipyard’s pictures taken in 2012 before NIBULON started to reconstruct and modernize it.
The visitors were impressed by the facility, namely by the shipyard’s modern workshops, huge cranes, vessel parts and sections. They paid attention to its clean territory, green areas, and the parking place for bicycles. Having compared the previous shipyard’s condition on the pictures with its current one, the guests could hardly believe it was an abandoned territory seven years ago.
The pupils inspected a metal processing workshop and a metal cleaning and priming area with Rösler preservation line, where the specialists carry out preparatory works to process metal. They visited an assembly and sectional workshop, where the shipbuilders mount sections for the future vessels. The guests observed how the vessel parts are produced in the mechanical and fitter’s area.
The pupils were close enough to see the company’s tugs to be maintained on the building berth. Their dimensions impressed the children. The pupils said that they had never seen these vessels so close.
Nobody remained indifferent. Some pupils were impressed by the shipyard’s territory and its workshops; others liked the process of vessel assembling. Some pupils were excited by the huge shipbuilding equipment. They will remember NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard for a long time.
“The excursion is very interesting and extremely useful. We sincerely thank NIBULON for organizing such an event. It is a good opportunity for eight-formers to realize that they will be able to find a good job with decent wages and comfortable working conditions in Mykolaiv. They have a lot to think about, and we will help them. The youth should work in Mykolaiv and develop its economy”, summarizes Natalia Tanina, deputy principal of educational work at Mykolaiv comprehensive secondary school No.34.
