“NIBULON” continues to implement its own environmental standard. The purpose of the company, its credo is an environmentally friendly business. Today the company demonstrates that a serious business can and should be responsible to the community.
On April 28, 2012 residents of Shostakove village (Mykolayiv region) received from the company a wonderful gift – laying out a park!
We remind that there is a land plot within the territory of Shostakove village council, on which construction of a transshipment terminal will be started in the second half of 2012.
During the preparatory works, including excavation works, 480 wild (self-sown) trees were removed in this area. Instead, undeveloped territory (wasteland) at an area of 4.5 ha was chosen near the site for compensatory planting of planting material of more than 12 000 trees: black walnut, walnut, chestnut, apricot, cherry plum.
“The purpose of planting is compensation for loss of the district environment. In particular, a young park will serve as protective plantings, saving the village and fields from storms. These will be additional “green lungs” for people and the whole environment. Also, a park creation will promote development of the village infrastructure, because over the years it will become a favorite place for walks among the local people. In particular, we made a planting width of 4 m, specially for a comfort while walking,” the chief forester of SE “Mykolayiv forest husbandry” Vasyl’ Smereka said.
While laying out the park, over 300 nursery transplants were planted by human force on April 28th. Not only the team of «NIBULON» had taken part in the event, but also employees of the State Department of Environmental Protection in Mykolayiv region, Mykolayiv Regional State Administration, Shostakove village council and local residents, schoolchildren, educators.
Machine tree planting preceded the event and after that local pupils directed nursery transplants and adjusted their espacement on their own.
The newly created park is signed off to the district administration, “NIBULON” does not disengage itself from obligations and intends to take care of the park during three years on a contractual basis with forest division.
