During Munich Security Conference, CEO Deutsche Investitions und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH (DEG), Roland Siller said the suffering will extend beyond the borders of Ukraine if the country’s private sector collapses. Thus, DEG is a German financial institution investing in Ukraine, in particular in its private sector. “We don’t want to wait until the war is over. Support must be constant,” said Roland Siller.Considering that the demand for assistance considerably exceeds the possibilities of German’s government and DFI (Development Financial Institution), the institutions, such as DEG, demonstrate German investors that it is possible to gain profit by investing in Ukraine. Andriy Vadaturskyy stressed that the guarantees from G7 would enable banks and private investors to invest more money in Ukraine now. “Banks are willing to finance, but cannot do it. They are very regulated and follow the rules. And the rule says: the war is a risk. If there is a risk, we do not finance”.
