Andrii took part in the work or the round table on the reconstruction of logistics infrastructure at the invitation of the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine. He talked about how NIBULON survives during the war, maintaining the connection of agricultural producers with world markets despite the fact that 68% of the company's assets are not operating.The CEO of NIBULON thanked the international community for macroeconomic and military assistance and once again paid attention to the role of business. “Ukraine’s economy cannot be built absolutely on international support. The basis of its recovery and future success – is business. We must do our work. Partners cannot do this instead of us. Only to help”, – noted Vadaturskyi.He gave an example of how, before the war, through EBRD, IFC, EIB and other IFIs, NIBULON created a logistics ecosystem that promoted the significant development of the agricultural industry. It reduced the costs of agricultural producers, which stimulated them to reinvest in development. All this allowed former-Soviet Ukraine to become the world’s breadwinner, to increase the production of agricultural products by 67%, and export – by 76%. Now is the time to protect these investments together and save what was built before the war from complete destruction. And we must act already today!“We continue to work in the interests of the industry, Ukraine and food security of the world, using only 32% of our capacity. We continue to fulfill our commitments with respect to our financial partners and with great gratitude to those of them who meet the needs. I specially would like to note the Ukrainian banks, which were the first who gave a helping hand. Sincere thanks to the Government, the Ministry of Infrastructure and personally to Minister, Mr. Oleskandr Kubrakov, for the assistance in the construction of the river port of Bessarabska branch, which helped to save the company during the war.”At the same time, to draw on the potential of NIBULON at 100%, we need the following:Political support for the restoration of river navigation, particularly the unblocking of the port in Mykolaiv, the relocation of the fleet and rebuilding of the Kakhovska Dam.Financial support, including financing of operational activities, provision of state guarantees for loans and transparent mechanisms for obtaining compensation for losses caused by military actions.New orders for our production facilities. Thus, the only one active shipbuilding and shiprepair yard in Ukraine, “SSY NIBULON” – the key of the country’s preservation of the status of a maritime state – is ready to build the fleet for needs of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, State Border Guard Service etc.We thank to the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine for the invitation and the opportunity to talk about needs of Ukrainian business at the #URC2023 forum.
