An Amazing 2019: A New Stage in NIBULON’s History

Launching the giant vessel
In May, the company launched its first 140-m vessel – the unique NIBULON MAX floating vessel (P-140 project). This is the first vessel of this size, built at NIBULON’s shipyard; it is the longest crane river-sea vessel built during the last 25 years of Ukraine’s independence. This class of vessel is an absolutely new and higher level of the shipyard’s facilities. For this purpose, the shipyard modernized its launching and lifting gear, thereby increasing the number of launching ways. The company is reconstructing the shipyard that will become the most modern in Ukraine after the reconstruction and, without doubt, one of the best in Europe. NIBULON MAX was officially put into operation during the international exhibition, on September 20, 2019. On October 10, it made its first cargo trip, being loaded with 8.5 thousand tons of corn.
A new gateway for Ukrainian exports
In June, NIBULON officially put its 27th grain terminal into operation  in Ternivka village, Vilniansk district, Zaporizhzhia region. We reached our target. The company opened the grain market for the Ukrainian agricultural producer. Today, each of our new facilities means the reduction of logistics expenses and brings economic benefits for the agrarians. In addition, our investment program solves the important issue of reducing traffic load on highways. Putting this transshipment terminal into operation removes up to 12.5 thousand trucks annually, by redirecting cargoes to river transport. Zaporizhzhia region can annually save at least UAH 300 million in road repairs. In Zaporizhzhia, where trucks entered the city, this facility is of great value for the city as well as for Ternivka citizens. NIBULON created not only new working places with decent wages but also a responsible approach to solve people’s problems.
 NIBULON’s own railcars
In July, we had an idea to create NIBULON’s own railcar fleet. Until recently, the company has not planned to buy railcars. According to Oleksiy Vadaturskyy, NIBULON did not plan to buy railcars. In his opinion, there are enough railcars in Ukraine to transport twice as much grain, but the railcars’ turnover from the center of Ukraine to the port should be 3-4 days (in both directions). NIBULON has years of successful experience in organizing logistics infrastructure in Ukraine. The company’s modern facilities are capable of loading railcars efficiently. So, it takes the company 3 days, while others use them 3-4 times less efficiently. Railcars should be an efficient mode of goods delivery.
NIBULON achieved its goal by transporting 3.5 million tons of cargoes by water transport.
2019 was rich in important achievements. During the 2018/19 marketing year, NIBULON’s shipping company transported more than 3.5 million tons of various cargoes by inland waterways. Thus, the volume of cargoes transported by NIBULON’s fleet increased by 40% over the previous marketing year. The shipping company transported 16.8 million tons of cargoes. The company’s modern fleet transports grain, metal, coal, building materials, Kherson watermelons and melons, as well as bulk cargoes.
 Record export results
The last marketing year was a record one for NIBULON. The company exported more than 5.2 million tons of grain and oilseeds. The company has held the leading positions in exporting agricultural commodities for the past years. Last marketing year, NIBULON shipped 26,8% more grain than in 2017/18 MY (4.1 million tons). NIBULON exported corn (2.23 million tons), wheat (2.13 million tons), and barley (535 thousand tons). China, with a 19 % share of exports, was once again the largest consumer, as in the previous year. The company exported agricultural commodities during the last marketing year to 19 countries, 9 of which were the EU countries: the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, and Spain. In the 2019/20 marketing year, NIBULON has already exported 2.8 million products.
An exciting water show and the longest floating vessel for the past 25 years of Ukraine’s independence
In September, the company impressed the audience with its water show. On September 20, during the international TRANS EXPO ODESA MYKOLAIV 2019 Forum, NIBULON put its 140-m NIBULON MAX floating vessel into operation. More than 100 participants and about 10,000 guests participated in the exhibition. Symbolically, during the forum the company has put into operation its 140-m NIBULON MAX river-sea floating vessel, the longest one built during the past 25 years of Ukraine’s independence. The most interesting part of the event was an exciting water show with the participation of NIBULON’s fleet. During this unique event, the guests had an opportunity to inspect NIBULON’s fleet and to discover its capabilities.
A new elevator facility and filling station in Khmilnyk
In November, we made the next step to develop the modern transport and logistics infrastructure, as well as to reduce traffic load on the Ukrainian highways. The company constructed and put its new facility to receive, store, and to ship agricultural commodities in Khmilnyk (Vinnytsia region) into operation. Currently, this facility operates normally. All the grain harvested by NIBULON in this region will be delivered to the company’s branches in other regions by railway transport and not by road transport.
In December, the company built its third filling station in Khmilnyk. Two out of three filling stations were constructed in Svatove town, Luhansk region (June, 2019) and in Kremenchuk city, Poltava region (July, 2018). The filling stations to serve NIBULON’s own needs are an important component in the company’s logistics system. Diesel fuel storage at NIBULON’s filling stations not only reduces storage expenses paid to third parties and preserves product quality, but also enables the company to efficiently deliver fuel to a final consumer.  It also avoids waiting in queues at other filling stations and enables NIBULON to ship fuel at a time convenient for the company.
A captain of Ukrainian business
Oleksiy Vadaturskyy has been awarded first place in the TOP-50 Ukrainian CEO rating organized by the Korespondent magazine editorial staff. Oleksiy Vadaturskyy always states that it is necessary to work not for the sake of the rating.  We need to work in order to inspire others to win, to change people’s lives for the better and to develop the entire country.
Record yields
NIBULON set a record in agricultural commodity production in 2019 – about 367 thousand tons. This is the best result since NIBULON started its operations. We have achieved much this season to be proud of. NIBULON’s main achievements in the 2019 season are a record wheat yield of 138 thousand tons, a sunflower yield of 25.0 dt/ha, and a sorghum yield of 61.1 dt/ha. These are unprecedented results in the company’s history. The company’s branches apply modern agricultural technologies and machinery, use comprehensive technologies to grow agricultural commodities, which ensure high harvesting results.
These do not represent  all our victories; we have described only the most important ones. We celebrated these events together. NIBULON will have more victories. 2019 is a year of large-scale constructions and impressive events. We inspired others and were inspired. We are ready for new achievements.
