The forum was held with the participation of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to Ukraine, Valdemaras Sarapinas, the Chairman of the Lithuania-Ukraine Business Council, Aivaras Karalius, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Lithuania in Mykolaiv, Serhiy Sypko, the head of Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, Vitaliy Kim, the head of Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, Hanna Zamazeeva, the Mykolaiv mayor, Oleksandr Senkevych, and business representatives from Mykolaiv region and Lithuania. The meeting aimed to showcase the economic, industrial, and investment potential of Mykolaiv region and the Republic of Lithuania, as well as discussing prospects of cooperation. NIBULON’s General Director, Oleksiy Vadaturskyy, represented large businesses in Mykolaiv region. Oleksiy Vadaturskyy considered the Honorary Consulate in Mykolaiv to be “the first window to Europe” and suggested that the Ambassador became a coordinator of the region at international and diplomatic levels. He shared his experience in developing business and noted obstacles faced by Ukrainian businesses. In Ukraine, the larger the business is, the more obstacles it faces. At present the regional administration and authorities from ministries do not prevent the company from developing. The same cannot be said of the legislative branch. Authorities do not want to adopt laws promoting the civilized businesses. […] The Law on Inland Water Transport legitimates fuel contraband in Ukraine. The company, a legal business in Ukraine, is uncompetitive with foreign fleet entering our ports. Foreign fleet is given the green light in Ukraine, while the Ukrainian fleet under Ukraine’s flag is not welcome in Ukraine.”According to Oleksiy Vadaturskyy, developed countries like Lithuania can be a bright example of civilized business and show the way for Ukraine’s development. The joint efforts made together with the EU representatives will promote the development of a successful Ukraine, as well as creating an attractive investment climate. In addition to the forum, the Ambassador, Valdemaras Sarapinas, and other respected guests visited NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard, where Oleksiy Vadaturskyy showed the delegation its production capacities, the vessel construction processes, as well as explaining to the visitors the peculiarities of shipbuilding development in Ukraine. In addition, the guests went on board the NIBULON-100 multipurpose tug (T3500 project). The guests were impressed by the high-capacity vessel built at the shipyard and equipped with modern equipment produced by the world’s best suppliers.
