On October 4, 2012 the managers of different French organizations and companies visited our company and main transshipment terminal of “NIBULON” in Mykolayiv city. In Ukraine from September 1 till 5 the delegation visited a number of companies for the purpose of comparison of the Ukrainian grain storage infrastructure with the French one and also sharing of experience in the following questions (actions as to prevention of accidents, design rules, calculation of industrial risks, ensuring of grain product quality, and others). At the transshipment terminal of “NIBULON” there were representatives of the following French companies: “INVIVO”, “COOP DE FRANCE”, “ACOLYANCE”, “ARVALIS”, “TERRE D’ALLIANCES”, “SICA ATLANTIQUE”, “SENALIA”, “SCAEL”. According to the delegation grain storage facilities of “NIBULON” are one of the up-to-date in Europe, therefore, their visit to the transshipment terminal is extremely important in order to obtain and share an experience. During the meeting the guests met with Oleksandr Khohlov, the deputy general director of quality and grain storage, and Oleg Pidgorodets’kyy, “NIBULON” chief engineer. The visitors had an opportunity to become familiar with the transshipment terminal in detail. In particular, they viewed the modern three-storey laboratory and administrative building, familiarized themselves with the industrial-engineering and chemical-technological laboratories and watched the whole process of grain quality analysis – from motor transport sampling to grain analysis. Observing the process of “NIBULON’s” non-self-propelled vessel loading, the guests became familiar with the unique logistic infrastructure of “NIBULON” including its own non-self-propelled and tug fleet. Becoming familiar with the production facilities of the terminal, the delegation took an interest in drying equipment technological features of which were introduced by Oleg Pidgorodets’kyy. They were also informed that in 2011 the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development recognized “NIBULON” as a winner of the Ukrainian Energy Efficiency Program (UKEEP) in the nomination “Project with the largest energy saving”. “NIBULON’s” investment for the amount of USD 15 mln allows to save about 10 mln cubic meters of natural gas and that is about USD 3 mln per year in money terms. Huge gas savings allow to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 18 thousand tons per year which equals to the annual emission rate of 8 thousand of vehicles. In their turn, the guests told about the state control of grain product quality in France. According to them every year in France there is developed and approved a state monitoring program – a component of an annual monitoring in the European Union countries. This procedure is headed by the Ministry for the Economy and Finance of France including its consumer protection department which works in coordination with the identical European Union organizations. The annual monitoring program is transparent, final and obligatory excluding a possibility of any selection checks of the state authorities. There are also performed an independent examination, quality control and certification of grain – in France “SGS S.A.” acts as such an organization. See the photo report.
