Recently in Paris there has been held the 75th International Agro-industrial Exhibition SIMA-2013 (Salon International de la Machine Agricole). It is the only exhibition in the world where the sectors of plant growing and livestock, forestry, restorable energy resources, agricultural machinery are introduced simultaneously. The agro-industrial show SIMA-2013 is: – Sharing of experience, discoveries and innovations at the international level. – Conferences on economic and technological issues. – 30 thematic sections on agriculture. – Representatives of the leading companies of the agro-industrial complex. – International forum dedicated to the agriculture of the future. During the exhibition there was held a conference to share experience among specialists from all over the world (“Agri manager club”), business meetings and negotiations with the exhibitors. In particular, on February 27 there was held a round table meeting “Competitiveness of Ukraine’s agriculture: prospects for export and modernization”. A number of agricultural companies participated in the event, namely NIBULON, KSG Аgro, Obriy, Valinor, Agroskop, and others. The organizer was Credit Agricole Bank of Ukraine that has been cooperating with NIBULON since 2008. Jean-Jacques Herve, the agricultural counsellor of the Board of Directors of Credit Agricole Bank of Ukraine, opened the exhibition. During his speech he explained the bank’s plans for the next year putting the accent on cooperation development with Ukrainian companies, first of all, as concerns the agricultural sector. Andriy Myhaylyuk, head of the finance department of NIBULON, noted an important role of the French bank in the making of Ukraine’s agricultural sector. He paid attention to the agrarian sector potential in development of other Ukraine’s industrial sectors, namely transport, metallurgy, construction, etc. An example of such a practice is implementation of NIBULON’s investment program that includes construction of elevator facilities, creation of own fleet, revival of river navigation in Ukraine. “We hope that due to the international investors and banks Ukraine will increase its own economy level”, mentioned Andriy Myhaylyuk. During his speech there were also discussed problems of Ukrainian legislation, including land reform implementation, adoption of the Law of Ukraine “On Sea Ports”, etc. The participants of the round table decided that it was necessary to increase level of mechanization and manufacturability of agriculture in order to increase the sector profitability. It is the potential of Ukraine’s agrarian sector that attracts investors. Today Ukraine has a considerable potential, rich natural resources, agriculture, convenient geographical location, qualified labour force – all opportunities for a successful future”, stressed the participants.
