We would remind you that last week the Romanian shipbuilders completed formation of the floating crane hull. At present there are being continued assembly and painting; equipment is being installed; the first tests have been started!
Assembly and welding works on erection and intersectional joints were completed as of April 30. They were presented for approval and now removal of remarks is being continued.
There were started the first tests of spaces by pouring water under pressure to test welded joints.
Flooding test is used for all structures and equipment which can come into contact with water or other liquid during operation or in case of emergencies and thus must be waterproof.
Fore and aft superstructures were welded to the crane pontoon. Beading of fore superstructure has been started. An open railing was installed.
The open railing consists of banisters installed at a distance and rails (ropes).
The Romanian shipbuilders are performing assembly of outer doors and portholes. Foundations of grab fastenings are being assembled on the main deck, assembly of foundations to aft and fore single windlasses is being completed.
Schotel rudder propellers are being assembled.
Schotel rudder propeller is recognized worldwide as a classic sea propulsion system. It was invented in 1950 by Joseph Becker, the founder of Schotel company, and gained the modern shipbuilding market quickly.
In the engine room there were installed Volvo Penta diesel generators of 420 kW each and also ventilation ducts, pipelines are being mounted. Painting of cable paths are being performed in order to pull cables inside spaces. There is being performed equipment assembly in a water treatment room, a service room where the technological process of natural water processing will occur in order to ensure its quality in compliance with the norms of water consumption.
Every day about 120 shipbuilders of SNC shipyard construct the floating crane!
The vessel’s construction continues according to the following stages: metal cutting – manufacture of hull pipes and systems – subassembly and fabrication – hull formation – test of spaces – assembly of deck outfit – installation of electric and navigation equipment – outfit of systems – installation of insulation and metal casing, casing of spaces – outfit of superstructure and accommodations – deck painting – mooring trials – sea trials – vessel’s delivery to the customer.
