Preservation of environment
Environmental protection is an item of daily concerns for NIBULON LTD.
A Departure for Environmental Protection (DEP) is occupied with issues of appliance of governmental environmental policy, which is aimed on securing of effective usage and recreation of natural resources as much as ensuring of ecological safety of company’s production.
Taking into consideration the diverse character of company’s activities, not only engineer-ecologists but also professionals in construction, agricultural, and chemical-technological laboratories which are authorized to measure and control environmental situation work in DEP.
Such an approach gives a possibility to integrate into activities of production departures, to study technological processes, to make conclusions about their impact on environment.
Experts of DEP monitor the observation of operating practices, ecological norms and standards in company’s branches, and state of environment in districts where company’s branches are located. During 9 months of the current year more than 167 tones of wastes, including almost 8 tones of 1-3 degrees of danger, were handed over to licensed utilizing organizations. Company spent over UAH 45 thousand for wastes recycling and realized a profit of UAH 132 687 for handing over wastes in capacity of secondary raw materials.
Almost all branches use artesian water or water from surface sources for their PRODUCTION and choir needs. Many villages, where branches are located, use artesian water for supplement of population with quality water. Altogether NIBULON LTD uses 13 chinks and 2 wells, 10 of which are drilled and renovated on our own behalf. Only this year DEP took 96 000 m3 of water, allocating UAH 27901 to central government budget.
NIBULON LTD cares about water resources sparing. While construction of storage facilities in “Zolotonis’ka” and “Smotrych” branches, strict sanitary zones with fence and amenity planting were organized around drilled artesian chinks for protection of underground waters from pollution. Refining of household and pluvial drain waters takes place in local purifying constructions. Total UAH 1269767 are spent on construction of waterworks in “Zolotonis’ka” and “Smotrych” branches.
The transshipment terminal is an example of solution of production issues combined with care about water resources. The enlargement of blotting capabilities of existing water-purifying constructions from 9 up to 50 m3 for household drain waters and from 120 up to 165 m3 for pluvial drain waters reached through construction of additional sanitary buildings and expansion of pluvial sewage net required the introduction of special technology of water recycling. This new water-purifying technology – biological with elements of electrical chemistry – secures water refining up to average figures of the Bug estuary. Water spew of such a quality will not pollute the estuary. The value of such a reconstruction is UAH 1 033 490.
Company’s chemical-technological laboratory possesses a certificate that allows us to monitor the quality of underground, surface, drinking-water and drain waters according to 25 indices, control the preparation of underground water to drinking-water level and monitor the process of refining of drain water. All processes can be corrected if there are any deviances.

Air pollution protection:
Closed technology of grain transportation; 27 air suction cleanings on dust-trapping equipment. The dust-trapping equipment of the top world level with purification efficiency 98-99%; Equipped and planted area. The application of closed technology of grain transportation (the belt conveyors in hermetic box installed by firm “Cimbria Unigrain” (Denmark))
and the system of air suction cleanings at the transshipment terminal lets minimize the emissions of grain dust in the air. Air discharged from the production equipment is purified with 21 cleaners including ones produced by “Simatek” company (Denmark).
The application of the grain dryers with controlled gas-jets produced by “MATHEWS” company (the USA) ensures maximum Coefficient of Efficiency of gas burn that in comparison with domestic analogs lets greatly cut down the gas flow to dry 1 ton of grain.
Water pollution protection:
Four-graded cleaning of household and rain-waste water before to pour out in the firth; Sanitary control of groundwater used for water-supply. Household and rain-waste water is gathered at the terminal area and passed through multi-graded cleaning in the water purification complexes “Ukos-Bio” and “Ukos-D” up to standards. Providing the arrangement system of trouble-free operation of the cleaners lets except the risk of uncontrolled waste water blowout.
Man health protection:
Making water to drinking perfection with the equipment of the world standards; Providing all drinking water needs with high quality water. In 2004 at the terminal there was built the block which provides the personal with drinking water in compliance with international standards. It is installed on 10 square meters and consists of two mini installations produced in the USA. Water from two artesian wells holed at the terminal area is done drinkable with the help of this equipment and whereupon this water is used for industrial, laboratory, dinning-room, sanitary service needs etc.
The departmental environmental quality monitoring of the objects at the working area of “NIBULON Ltd” is realized by the own attested chemical-technological laboratory.
The lab was established in 2003 to do departmental environmental quality monitoring at the areas of activities of “NIBULON Ltd” branches. In March the area of the lab attestation is well expanded, the lab estimates the state of three environment objects:
Ground water by 19 characteristics as the source of water use is artesian and shaft wells (there are 11 artesian and 4 shaft wells at the company); Surface water (of Buhskiy firth) by 21 characteristics in view of starting transshipping works and blowing out waste water; Air by 16 characteristics to give an estimate to the ambient air quality at the border of the control area of branches and at the area of transshipping works. Besides, they control the operating efficiency of the installations of the environment importance, for that they estimate the quality of:
Drinking water taken from underground, cleaned with the reverse osmosis method through three desalination installations of membrane type, two of them work at the terminal and one does at the “Snigirevskiy” branch; Waste water cleaned before to blowout into Buhskiy firth; Air while it is coming in and out from dust-trapping installations which catch the dust at the transshipping area.
